A group of friends shared: After traveling in Phu Quy, the whole group decided to stay in Phan Thiet for another day to enjoy the local cuisine. In the morning, they had "dirty" beef noodle soup and Quang-style noodles with pork and duck; at lunchtime, they had fish salad and sour fish soup. In the evening, they had rice noodle soup, hot pot, and fish hot pot… A distinctive feature of Phan Thiet cuisine, unlike anywhere else, is that the seasoning in each dish is sweeter than in other local cuisines, but quite delicious.

Another group of tourists shared: "We traveled by motorbike from Saigon to Phan Thiet. Upon arriving in Phan Thiet, we experienced many flavors of the sea. From afternoon to evening, everyone in the group enjoyed many dishes including conch salad, clam porridge, banh can (rice flour pancakes), fish hotpot, squid teeth, steamed squid eggs, rice paper rolls with shrimp paste, banh canh (rice noodle soup)... The prices were surprisingly cheap! For example, banh canh was 20,000 VND per bowl, and banh canh with shrimp paste, sausage, and spring rolls was only 10,000 VND per piece... After eating until we were full, everyone went to Doi Duong beach to drink coffee and admire the sea view; the scenery was truly enchanting. It would be a shame to visit Phan Thiet without trying the local food."

According to the World Food Tourism Association (WFTA), 53% of tourists enjoy regional and local cuisine while traveling. Food expenses account for 15-35% of total tourist spending. It is estimated that culinary tourism contributes an average of 25% of the total revenue to the local economy . The benefits of culinary tourism include increased tourist numbers, higher revenue, and significant attention and enthusiastic support from social media communities, leading to media coverage and articles about tourism being posted online.

Topics related to "Food Tours" on social media attract a large number of views and interactions. This increases the reach and visibility of local culinary culture. Furthermore, the spread of "Food Tour" information on social media creates a digital space for food, stimulating viewers' desire to experience these dishes firsthand. Culinary tourism is suitable for all tourists, including those with low incomes and independent travelers. Many young people have commented: "With only 100,000 VND, you can eat 5-6 dishes in Phan Thiet – delicious and filling; once you come, you'll come again."

To further develop Phan Thiet's culinary tourism, it is essential to create a Food Tour map for tourists. This map would show locations, what dishes to eat, opening hours, transportation options, etc. Through this, tourists can refer to the information before embarking on their culinary journey. Furthermore, culinary tourism is not just about enjoying local food; tourists also want to experience the depth of the culinary culture. This includes learning about cooking techniques – practicing cooking local dishes; researching the origins of dishes; visiting production and processing facilities; and participating in the experience…
