Specifically, the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Saigon Railway Branch to reconsider this decision and also demanded improvements in service quality to ensure tourist satisfaction.
Mr. Tran Thanh Hoai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, emphasized that Da Lat Railway Station is a national tangible cultural heritage site, possessing not only exceptional architectural value but also being closely associated with the memories and emotions of many generations of domestic and international tourists.
"The increase in ticket prices needs to be carefully considered, in order to ensure the value of serving the community and to create conditions for everyone to fully enjoy the beauty of this architectural masterpiece," Mr. Hoai shared.
Mr. Hoai also noted that increasing service prices must go hand in hand with improving the quality of the tourist experience. The Department has requested the Saigon Railway Branch to develop a specific roadmap, diversify tourism products, and find solutions to preserve and promote heritage values, avoiding negative impacts on the brand image of Da Lat Station.
Mr. Cao The Anh, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Tourism Association, also expressed his opinion: "Price increases must follow a roadmap and be commensurate with the quality of services provided. If quality is not improved but prices are suddenly increased, it will easily alienate customers and tarnish the image of the destination."
Dalat Railway Station was recognized as a National Historical Monument in 2001 and has long been an attractive destination for tourists visiting Dalat city.
Public opinion suggests that the sudden price increase, while the station has not received significant upgrades, is unreasonable. Many fear this will affect the tourist experience and may diminish the attractiveness of Da Lat Station – one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city of a thousand flowers.
