Vietnam Railway Corporation is responsible for fully complying with the provisions of the Law on Tourism and relevant legal regulations in the process of managing and operating business at the tourist destination "Da Lat Railway Station".
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 1061/QD-UBND dated June 21, 2024 on recognizing the tourist destination "Da Lat Railway Station", at No. 1 Quang Trung, Ward 10, Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, managed by Vietnam Railway Corporation.

Da Lat Railway Station was built from 1932 to 1938, is the only train station in the Central Highlands region, considered the most beautiful ancient train station in Vietnam and Indochina.
Da Lat Railway Station was designed by two French architects, Moncet and Revéron, with a strong local architectural style. The structure is coherent and scientific , yet very sophisticated in form.
The project has a symmetrical layout, with the central architectural block simulating the three peaks of Langbiang Mountain and the roofs of the Central Highlands communal houses, and on both sides are two long architectural blocks.
In the middle of the building, outside, under the roof, there is a large clock face recording the time when doctor Alexandre Yersin discovered Dalat.
In the middle block, in front there are two halls, one for passengers and one for goods. Between these two aisles is the waiting area for trains.
This central block has only one floor with a large space and a height up to the roof. Overall, the architecture of the building is in harmony with nature and is a unique urban highlight.
Da Lat Railway Station was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic in 2001. In August 2023, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to orient railway transport development until 2030, with a vision to 2045, focusing on restoring, renovating and effectively exploiting the unique Da Lat - Thap Cham cog railway for tourism purposes. |
