Da Lat Railway Station

Vietnam Railways Corporation is responsible for fully complying with the provisions of the Tourism Law and relevant legal regulations in the process of managing and operating the "Da Lat Railway Station" tourist destination.

The People's Committee of Lam Dong province recently issued Decision No. 1061/QD-UBND dated June 21, 2024, recognizing the "Da Lat Railway Station" tourist destination at 1 Quang Trung Street, Ward 10, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, managed by the Vietnam Railway Corporation.

Dalat Railway Station, built between 1932 and 1938, is the only railway station in the Central Highlands region and is considered the most beautiful old railway station in Vietnam and Indochina.

Dalat Railway Station was designed by two French architects, Moncet and Revéron, with architecture strongly reflecting local characteristics. The building's structure is coherent and scientific , yet its form is very refined.

The structure has a symmetrical layout, with the central building mimicking the three peaks of Langbiang Mountain and the traditional longhouses of the Central Highlands, flanked by two elongated buildings on either side.

In the center of the building, outside, under the roof, is a large clock face recording the time when Dr. Alexandre Yersin discovered Da Lat.

In the central block, at the front, there are two halls, one for passengers and one for cargo. Between these two walkways is the train waiting area.

This central building has only one floor with a spacious interior and extends all the way to the roof. Overall, the architecture harmonizes with nature and is a unique urban landmark.

Da Lat Railway Station was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Monument in 2001. In August 2023, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a plan outlining the development of railway transport until 2030, with a vision to 2045, focusing on restoring, renovating, and effectively exploiting the unique Da Lat - Thap Cham rack railway line for tourism purposes.
