A group calling themselves "die-hard Flappy Bird fans" claims to have acquired the rights to the game. The group asserts that the legendary title will return to Android and iOS devices in 2025.

However, unlike the previous limited activities on two mobile platforms, the Flappy Bird Foundation says it plans to bring the game to other platforms, such as desktop and mobile web. This is also a difference from the original version, which could make the game more appealing to a wider audience.
Additionally, the version will feature multiple game modes and different characters for users to experience. The chimney design and controllable birds will remain the core elements.
Flappy Bird, released in May 2013 by developer Nguyen Ha Dong, became a phenomenon thanks to its combination of challenging gameplay and simple art style with pipes inspired by Mario games.
The Flappy Bird Foundation stated that the original game had attracted over 100 million players, and numerous "knockoffs" also appeared. According to Nguyen Ha Dong, the game earned him $50,000 per day from advertising. However, Ha Dong unexpectedly removed the game from the App Store and Google Play in February 2014.
