FUNiX recently officially launched the GenAI Hackathon online to encourage participants to innovate and find technological solutions applying GenAI in their work and studies.

The competition challenge is to apply GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Band, Chat Sonic, etc., to build solutions and products that address educational problems, supporting students in their learning process or enabling schools and centers to better manage and teach.

The GenAI Hackathon takes place online and consists of three rounds: Idea Generation, Product Development, and the Final Round.

In the first round, teams register and submit their product ideas to the organizers. The 10 teams selected for the Product Development round will have one week to refine their product, with the support of technology experts at FUNiX acting as mentors.

The semi-finals took place on the evening of July 3rd, where teams presented their projects for the judges to select the 6 teams with the best performances to advance to the finals. In the finals on July 7th, the teams will compete and solve advanced challenges to determine the champion.

Participating projects will be evaluated based on the extent to which GenAI is applied in the solution and product development process, the ability to meet the judges' advanced requirements, the level of completeness, creativity, user experience, social impact, and the team's presentation skills.

One of the highlights of the GenAI Hackathon is that the entire event and competition information will be delivered on the Metaverse technology platform, sponsored by DTS Group, providing a vivid virtual reality experience for contestants and interested viewers alike.

According to Mr. Truong Gia Bao, Chairman of DTS Group, this not only helps affirm the enormous potential of the Metaverse in many fields, but also motivates young people to pursue and develop new technologies.

Furthermore, the GenAI Hackathon is supported by 10 technology companies as sponsors and expert advisors. Ms. Bui Hai Ly, Head of Student Community Development at FUNiX, said: “This is also a playground that helps students unleash their creativity and apply AI tools to solve existing problems in the educational and learning environment they are experiencing.”

The competition is open to current and former FUNiX students, as well as students from universities both domestically and internationally. Participants can register in teams of 3 to 5 people. Entries can be submitted in Vietnamese or English.

The prize structure includes one first prize worth 20 million VND; one second prize worth 10 million VND; one third prize worth 7 million VND; and three consolation prizes. Each prize winner also receives a free course of their choice at FUNiX, worth 10 million VND. Teams that reach the top 10 and top 5 in the semi-finals will also receive prizes worth 500,000 VND and 1 million VND respectively.

GenAI Hackathon is the second season of the ChatGPT Hackathon competition organized by FUNiX in 2023, attracting hundreds of interested participants from students nationwide. This online training institution also provided the premium version of ChatGPT to all students as soon as the application launched, supporting students with a better learning experience and more effective learning.
