Viettel AI Day included in-depth discussions and an exhibition showcasing outstanding AI products, offering insights, experiences, and practical examples of effective AI deployment globally. In the discussion session themed "AI and Perspectives from the World," speakers shared insights on technology trends and commonly applied use cases worldwide, including the highly relevant field of Generative AI.

As Viettel's strategic AI partner, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong - Director of NVIDIA Vietnam - gave an impressive presentation on high-performance computing infrastructure and software platforms for Generative AI. Emphasizing why businesses need GPUs (Graphic Processing Units) and HPCs (High-Performance Computers), he stated that these are two crucial components determining computing power, considered the core strength of nations and large corporations in the technology sector.

GPUs are demonstrating superior processing speed compared to the commonly used CPUs (Central Processing Units), processing both data and images faster. For the same calculation, a CPU takes 2.1 hours to process, but a system with four GPUs takes just over 10 seconds. Notably, Mr. Cuong also directly introduced one of NVIDIA's newest GPUs to the conference: the H100, a product currently selling out worldwide . He stated that the H100 GPU will completely change the structure of data centers in Vietnam.

NVIDIA's GPU platform not only supports HPC but also accelerates computing power for AI. NVIDIA's ecosystem already has over 1,600 Generative AI developers collaborating. Currently, NVIDIA is developing tools to support the construction of large-scale language models and has partnered with Viettel to transfer data security technologies. At the end of his presentation, Mr. Cuong captivated the audience with a video demonstrating how AI is changing the global robotics market.

Also at the seminar, Mr. Le Van Thanh - Solutions Architect, Google - shared about how Generative AI drives business development. Introducing Vertex AI - Google's machine learning management platform, Mr. Thanh said that this platform can create online interactions, analyze data, answer questions in a short time, etc., allowing businesses to instantly capture the moment when the "touchpoint" between the business and the customer appears.

Using a video as a visual example, Mr. Thanh captivated the audience with the rapid generation capabilities of Generative AI. "Make a cup of coffee and you can have a chatbot ready while you wait," Mr. Thanh described when demonstrating the steps to create a basic chatbot with Vertex AI.

Google's research shows that the most frequently used use cases for Generative AI are virtual assistants and data/text searches. This aligns with Viettel's development direction for a virtual assistant to support professional business lookup. "I'm pleased to know that Viettel has also applied this use case to its work," Mr. Thanh said.

Based on his experience implementing solutions for numerous clients, Mr. Thanh shared Google's handbook for business leaders, which details 10 steps to implement any AI use case within 30 days, starting with specifically identifying the business problem to be solved and forming a team responsible for implementation.

Mr. Thanh noted that for a successful use case, the implementation team cannot consist solely of technology specialists but needs to include members from all three fields: business, technology, and operations, to gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business. Next, identify the business objectives to be achieved through the application use case; if it's to increase revenue, specify which customer group needs to be targeted… Only after completing these steps will the business have the foundational information to delve into the development process and personalize the technology to suit the actual needs of the business.

Viettel AI Day is an event organized by Viettel with the aim of providing a multi-faceted perspective on global Artificial Intelligence (AI) development trends, along with in-depth sharing of effective AI application experiences from various fields around the world.
