Every evening, visit Hoi An Street restaurant, located on the front of Mac Dinh Chi street (Ben Nghe ward, District 1). Although it is "brand new" having just opened not long ago, the restaurant is already bustling with customers.
The restaurant space impresses with colorful lanterns at night.
The restaurant space is creatively decorated with a strong Vietnamese character.
Open from 6:30 am to 10 pm, however, the impression of this restaurant at night is with the lanterns hanging from the ceiling emitting light in many different colors, creating a sparkling space. When I visited, the restaurant was not only crowded with Vietnamese diners but also foreign tourists.
Talking to Thanh Nien , Ms. Huynh Ngoc Tran, representative of Hoi An Street, said that with the desire to introduce Vietnamese culture to tourists, especially international tourists, the restaurant has recreated the quiet space of Hoi An ancient town, with the characteristics of the three regions of Vietnam.
“The restaurant reflects folk and traditional features, highlighted by colorful lanterns recreating an ancient corner of the old town in the heart of bustling Saigon as well as traditional music at fixed times to convey traditional Vietnamese culture,” Ms. Tran added.
Crowded foreign tourists visit the restaurant.
Accordingly, the menu here is diverse with dishes that are typical of Vietnam, from traditional dishes to creative culinary dishes. Central specialties such as Hoi An chicken rice, Quang noodles, ram it cake, banh xeo... are loved by diners because of their rich flavors.
Mr. Hong Nhan (26 years old, living in District 3) said he accidentally learned about the restaurant that had just opened not long ago through social media. Originally from Quang Nam, Mr. Nhan felt the restaurant's space was familiar so he stopped by to have a meal with his relatives.
“Here, I feel close, just like a miniature Hoi An with my childhood memories. I like to come here at night when this restaurant is lit up with colorful lanterns, very Hoi An," the guest commented.
