Da Nang announces a series of attractive activities to celebrate the New Year 2026.

The Danang New Year Festival 2026 has been officially announced by the Danang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, marking the beginning of a series of unique cultural and tourism events, expected to create a major boost for the year-end tourism season and throughout 2026.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that the city's tourism industry had achieved impressive results in 2025, making a significant contribution to socio-economic growth.

In the first 11 months of 2025, the number of overnight visitors is estimated to reach 16.5 million, an increase of 19% compared to the same period in 2024. Of these, international visitors are expected to reach nearly 7 million, an increase of over 26%; and domestic visitors over 9.5 million, an increase of 14%.

Emphasizing the role of digital transformation in tourism development, Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, stated that the city currently leads the country in the digitization of tourism resources and big data. From searching for information and booking services to experiencing destinations, tourists can conveniently access everything through a synchronized digital system.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

"Da Nang aims to become a smart, friendly, and accessible destination, enhancing its competitive advantage in the context of global digital tourism," Mr. Dung shared.

Along with the surge in visitor numbers, the accommodation market during the year-end period is also showing positive signs. According to Ms. Hoang Le Phuong Linh, Director of Sales & Marketing at Pullman Danang Beach Resort, the demand for leisure travel at the end of 2025 is increasing sharply, especially from international tourists. Room occupancy during the Christmas - New Year period has already exceeded 90%, with international guests accounting for more than 80%.

The number of European and American tourists visiting Da Nang increased significantly towards the end of the year.

"There has been a significant increase in visitors from Europe, Australia, and the United States. This is always a peak travel season due to the extended holiday period," Ms. Linh said.

In celebration of the festive season, many hotels and resorts in Da Nang have launched themed Christmas and New Year-themed entertainment and culinary activities. At Pullman Danang Beach Resort, the series of events includes a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, a Christmas buffet, a New Year's buffet, and especially a Christmas and New Year's party on the beach, offering guests a truly "Da Nang" experience.

A notable highlight of the 2026 New Year's Eve Festival is the "Lighting Up the Han River - Towards the Future" night run, held for the first time on New Year's Eve.

After the race concludes, locals and tourists will immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the countdown program at Bach Dang pedestrian street, featuring DJs and artists in a series of artistic activities. The race's concept is inspired by famous nighttime sports and cultural events in London, Tokyo, and Copenhagen.

The Da Nang New Year Festival 2026 is expected to create strong growth momentum for the end of 2025 and throughout 2026.
