Prioritize land allocation for green spaces and parks in Da Nang city planning.

DNO - On the afternoon of December 11th, during the discussion session of the 5th meeting of the 10th term of the Da Nang City People's Council, Director of the Department of Construction Nguyen Ha Nam highly appreciated the opinion of delegate Vu Quang Hung regarding the proposal to prioritize land for green spaces and parks in the Da Nang city planning.

Previously, delegate Vu Quang Hung, Head of the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones, stated that currently, the center of Da Nang still has 392 large public land plots, with a total area of ​​over 3.4 million m², that have not yet been auctioned.

Representative Hung suggested that Da Nang could implement various solutions to address the shortage of parking spaces while simultaneously maintaining the landscape, aiming for an immediate goal of 6m² of green space per person, and eventually 10m² per person.

When every public land plot contributes a portion of green space, along with riverside and coastal parks, the center of Da Nang will develop.

Green spaces do not diminish land value; on the contrary, they enhance the value of remaining land and strengthen the city's international image.

According to the Director of the Department of Construction, Nguyen Ha Nam, regarding the implementation of the new urban plan, the City People's Committee has signed and issued a plan for the implementation of the new city plan.

Simultaneously, the city is implementing planning at all levels to accelerate progress. It is expected that the city's master plan will be completed by the end of 2027.

With the synchronized implementation of planning at all levels, the city will carry out 101 planning projects at various levels. In the near future, the Department of Construction will coordinate with wards and communes to fully implement the planning tasks.

Regarding park space and urban greenery, the former Da Nang city has a standard of 1.69 ^m² of park space per person; Tam Ky has a standard of 1.34 ^m² per person…

Older urban areas (Da Nang, Tam Ky, Hoi An, etc.) have all planned the scale of parks and green spaces to meet standard requirements. Da Nang is planning approximately 9.2 ^m² /person (about 1,436 hectares/1.7 million people); Tam Ky plans 11 ^m² /person; and Hoi An plans 9.3 ^m² /person.

According to Mr. Nam, the city's public land resources should be considered for developing green spaces to improve the index according to standards.
