4 year old girl bitten in the face by a dog while playing in the square

While playing in the coastal park square in Phuoc Hai commune (HCMC), a 4-year-old girl was suddenly bitten by a dog, scratching her face and requiring many stitches.

On December 8, Phuoc Hai Commune Police (HCMC) are verifying the case of a 4-year-old girl being attacked by a dog while playing in a park square.

The victim was THLĐ., 4 years old, residing in Hai Phuc quarter, Phuoc Hai commune.

According to Mr. TVL (34 years old, the child's father), the incident happened around 7:00 p.m. on December 7 at the coastal square.

At that time, the square was quite crowded with children. D. was playing with her friends when suddenly a large yellow-white dog rushed forward and bit the girl in the face.

Seeing the little girl being attacked, people around rushed to stop and chase her away, only then did the dog let go of the little girl.

The sudden attack left the girl with torn face and broken teeth. Her family took her to Ba Ria General Hospital (Tam Long Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) for emergency treatment.

After being treated and having the wound on her face stitched, the girl was transferred to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City for rabies vaccination as recommended by the doctor.

Next, the family took the child to Children's Hospital 1 (HCMC) to treat the eye due to a dog scratch that damaged the eyelid.

Family members said the baby is still being monitored and will need more treatment in the future.

Mr. L. said that the square park is where local people often take their children to play, and there are many children who regularly gather to play.

The incident made him extremely worried because if people did not intervene in time, the consequences could be more serious.

After the incident, the girl's family reported it to the local authorities to investigate and take measures to manage stray dogs in the area to avoid similar incidents from happening.

Mr. L. posted information and pictures on social media to warn and search for the dog. However, to date, there is still no information about the dog and its owner.
