The robusta coffee market is also under significant pressure due to scarce supply. Vietnam – the world's largest robusta producer – recorded a 11.6% decrease in exports in October compared to the previous month and an 11.1% decrease compared to the same period last year. Heavy rains in coffee-growing regions have delayed harvesting, while robusta production for the 2023/24 crop year has fallen by 20%, to its lowest level in four years. This has driven robusta prices higher on the world market.

Forecasts for the 2024-2025 crop year indicate global coffee production is estimated at 169.5 million bags, lower than consumption demand of 171 million bags. In Vietnam, supply is facing many challenges. The La Nina phenomenon may appear at the end of the year, affecting the harvest. Notably, farmers are not in a hurry to sell due to stable income from durian and pepper.
