Nestled among the green hills of Tau Tien village, Ba Che commune, the family of Mr. Trieu Kim Phuong and Ms. Chiu Thi Mai is well-known for their diligence and unity in economic development. Starting with many difficulties in terms of capital and production experience, Mr. Phuong and Ms. Mai have gradually built a comprehensive economic model suitable to local conditions.
Currently, the family owns over 3 hectares of cinnamon trees, maintains a herd of 10 spotted deer, raises poultry, and also develops hair and skin care services combined with a home-based grocery business. Thanks to diversified income sources, Mr. Phuong and Ms. Mai's family earns approximately 150 million VND per year. A more stable economy also allows the couple to better care for their children and participate in village activities.
Ms. Chiu Thi Mai shared: “My husband and I always discuss everything in the family together. From economic development to childcare, everything is done with agreement and sharing. When both of us are in agreement, we can overcome any difficulty.”

The story of Mr. Phuong and Ms. Mai's family is not only about their economic development but also reflects a shift in the perception of building a young family. In their home, the woman's role is respected, and all decisions, big and small, are discussed and agreed upon between husband and wife. According to Mr. Trieu Kim Phuong, in a family, husband and wife must respect and support each other to maintain a lasting bond. In particular, his wife's support is the driving force that allows him to boldly expand his production model and develop the family's economy.
Behind the transformations of young families in ethnic minority areas is the support of the Women's Union at the grassroots level. In Ba Chẽ commune, activities promoting gender equality, skills for building happy families, and supporting women's economic development are implemented through various accessible methods tailored to local realities. As a result, many women have become more confident in their work and production, and participate in decision-making regarding family and community matters.

In Ward 5, Ha Tu Commune, the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Hai Yen and Mr. Nguyen The Anh is a prime example of a dynamic young family in urban life. As a Women's Association official in the neighborhood, Ms. Yen regularly participates in community activities and movements. In addition, she directly manages her family's household appliance business.
Despite her busy work schedule, she always receives support from her husband in childcare, managing household chores, and maintaining the business. According to Mr. Nguyen The Anh, equality in the family is not a distant dream, but begins with spouses respecting each other's work, choices, and responsibilities. This sharing of daily tasks allows each member more time and motivation to fulfill their roles well both at home and in society.
From these specific families, we can see that each home has different circumstances, conditions, and ways of building happiness, but they all share core values of love, equality, responsibility, and sharing. This is also the spirit that Quang Ninh province has defined in Plan No. 327/KH-UBND on building prosperous, progressive, happy, and civilized young families in the province for the period 2025-2030.
The plan focuses on raising awareness and equipping families with the skills to build happy families; disseminating laws on marriage and family; and promoting the role of mass organizations in supporting the comprehensive development of young families. Based on this principle, localities and units are concretizing it through practical models and activities, targeting specific groups and areas, especially rural, mountainous, ethnic minority areas, and rapidly developing urban areas.
