Rice prices today, April 18th: Raw rice prices increased slightly.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, April 18, 2025, remained relatively stable. Market volume was low, with some raw rice varieties experiencing slight increases, while fresh paddy prices remained steady compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of raw OM 18 rice has increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 10,200 and 10,400 VND/kg; raw IR 504 rice fluctuates between 7,900 and 8,050 VND/kg; raw OM 380 rice fluctuates between 7,700 and 7,850 VND/kg; raw 5451 rice fluctuates between 9,600 and 9,750 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice fluctuates between 8,800 and 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice fluctuates between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the prices of these items range from approximately 7,400 to 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, fragrant rice bran is priced at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg; and rice bran is priced at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

According to reports from various localities today, the demand for fragrant rice is quite high, transactions are steady, and prices remain stable. In An Giang , the supply is good, warehouses are buying steadily, and prices are firm. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is low, but prices remain stable.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), the volume is moderate, warehouses are still buying slowly, and prices are relatively stable. At An Cu market (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province ), the volume is small, warehouse transactions are slow, and prices are stable.

At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice ranges from 15,500 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices for rice are as follows: OM 18 (fresh) rice ranges from 6,800 to 7,000 VND/kg; OM 380 (fresh) rice ranges from 5,900 to 6,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 (fresh) rice ranges from 6,200 to 6,300 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 (fresh) rice ranges from 6,900 to 7,000 VND/kg; IR 50404 (fresh) rice ranges from 5,800 to 6,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice ranges from 6,550 to 6,750 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show a gradual decrease in the supply of fresh rice, and trading activity is sluggish. In An Giang and Can Tho, the remaining rice supply is dwindling, trading is infrequent, and prices remain stable. In Kien Giang, the rice supply is decreasing, and prices are stagnant.

In Tra Vinh, rice harvesting has begun, and rice prices are fluctuating slightly. In Bac Lieu, farmers are maintaining high prices for fresh ST rice and fragrant rice, with many areas already reserved, and demand for purchase is sporadic. In Long An, supply is limited, traders are not inquiring much, and transactions are slow.

On the export market, the price of Vietnamese rice remained unchanged today compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 5% broken rice is 396 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 368 USD/ton; and 100% broken rice is 317 USD/ton.
