Specifically, the current price of rice usually fluctuates at 6.800-7.100 VND/kg; price of sticky, fragrant rice fluctuated at 7.800-8.000 VND/kg, up from 400-700 VND/kg over the previous month and 400-1.600 VND/kg over the same period last year.
About 2 weeks from now, the rice growing area in Thanh Son commune, Dinh Quan district will start harvesting summer-autumn rice in 2023 |
In the export market, after the announcement of banning rice exports from India, Russia and the UAE, the price of rice on the world market continuously increased. Currently, many markets such as China, the Philippines, and Indonesia are competing to buy Vietnamese rice, contributing to increasing export prices.
Particularly in Dong Nai, it will take about 2-4 weeks for farmers to harvest summer-autumn rice in 2023. In some localities such as: H.Tan Phu, Dinh Quan, farmers have now reaped early rice to run away from floods. This year's summer-autumn crop, Dong Nai planted more than 19 hectares. According to rice farmers in the province, this year's harvest, rice yield decreased sharply compared to every year because of the adverse effects of the weather, especially during the recent flood, many rice growing areas in H. Tan Phu, Dinh Quan suffered heavy damage with hundreds of hectares of rice flooded due to floods.
It is forecasted that rice prices may continue to increase in the near future. Accordingly, on August 3, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a document to send localities on stabilizing the rice market; require rice exporting enterprises to have a plan on the source of goods, maintain a stable amount of rice and rice reserves to be ready to supply when needed. In case of supply shortage, there will be measures to control rice exports. This is also to ensure the supply of rice to the market from now until the end of 8, Giap Thin Lunar New Year 2023 with stable prices.
