After recording a surge of more than 150% ahead of the Consensus 2025 conference, Pi Coin failed to sustain the growth trend due to high expectations from the community not being met.

The announcement on May 14, which was considered a “landmark,” did not provide any new information beyond the announcement of the $100 million Pi Network Ventures fund.

However, this fund can be suspended or canceled at any time according to the announcement from the development team, raising many doubts about the long-term commitment and transparency of the project.

It is worth noting that Pi's price has dropped even as Bitcoin peaked at $107,000 around the same time.

The market expected that Bitcoin's growth would drag altcoins like Pi along, but the opposite happened.

Profit-taking sentiment emerged after Bitcoin peaked, leading to a sharp correction in the market. Currently, Bitcoin has dropped to around $103,000, causing the entire cryptocurrency market, including Pi, to correct.

Concerns about inflation and high interest rates from the Fed

The market is now awaiting fresh inflation figures from the US. If the CPI rises, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) may not cut interest rates as expected, reducing the appeal of risky assets such as cryptocurrencies.

This led to a temporary withdrawal of speculative money, causing the market to become less active. Pi, which does not have an official mainnet and is still in doubt, was hit even harder in the context of the general price drop.

According to technical analysts, Pi’s nearest support level is at $0.68. If the price breaks this level, it is likely to drop to $0.60. In case the market recovers on positive factors, Pi needs to break through $0.85 – $0.90 to establish a new growth zone.
