According to Calciomercato , with impressive performances in his first season at Napoli, McTominay's value on the transfer market has increased to around 60 million euros. Previously, Napoli only spent around 30 million euros to welcome McTominay to play from MU.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte and director Giovanni Manna saw an opportunity to sign McTominay when he fell out of Erik ten Hag's plans last summer. The Neapolitan club beat off competition to sign the Scottish midfielder, a move that paid off handsomely.

In his first season in Italy, McTominay scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists in 34 Serie A appearances, playing an important role in Napoli's title-winning journey. He was also named Serie A Player of the Year for the 2024/25 season.

Under Conte's guidance, Napoli's tactical system has been flexibly adjusted between 3-5-2, 4-3-3 and 4-4-2 formations, allowing McTominay to operate as an attacking midfielder, with freedom to move around the pitch and take responsibility for scoring goals.

As a result, the midfielder has almost doubled his goals in a season, from 7 in the Premier League in 2023/24 to 12 in Serie A. In addition, McTominay's assists have also skyrocketed from 1 to 6 this season.

McTominay's contract with Napoli runs until June 2028, with a salary of around €3m per season after tax.
