Saigon Jewelry Company listed the price of SJC gold bars at 98.2 - 100.2 million VND/ounce for buying and selling, an increase of 1.3 million VND/ounce compared to yesterday morning.
Other gold brands also raised the price of SJC gold bars to 100.2 million VND/ounce. The buy-sell spread widened to 2 million VND/ounce instead of 1.5 million VND/ounce the previous day.
The price of gold rings also increased sharply, following the price of gold bars. Specifically, Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd. listed the buying and selling prices at 98.6 - 100.6 million VND/ounce, an increase of 1 million VND/ounce for buying and 900,000 VND/ounce for selling compared to yesterday morning. Consequently, the difference between the buying and selling prices also widened to 2 million VND/ounce.
Phu Quy Gold and Gemstone Group listed the price of gold rings at 98.5 - 100.5 million VND/ounce for buying and selling.
This morning, the world gold price was quoted at $3,085 per ounce, the highest in history.
In the currency market this morning, the State Bank of Vietnam listed the central exchange rate at 24,843 VND/USD, a decrease of 3 VND compared to yesterday morning.
At commercial banks, the USD exchange rate increased for buying but decreased for selling. For example, BIDV listed the rate at 25,405 - 25,755 VND/USD, an increase of 5 VND for buying and a decrease of 5 VND for selling.
Vietinbank listed the exchange rate at 25,405 - 25,761 VND/USD, an increase of 151 VND in the buying rate and a decrease of 69 VND in the selling rate. Vietcombank increased by 10 VND in both buying and selling rates, trading at 25,370 - 25,760 VND/USD.
In the free market, the US dollar is trading at 25,860 - 25,960 VND/USD, an increase of 25 VND in both the buying and selling rates.
