Gold price drops sharply again, falling far below 120 million VND/tael

After a sharp drop on the morning of May 15, domestic gold prices reversed, falling more than VND2 million/tael and slipping below the VND120 million/tael mark, but still higher than the previous day.

At the end of the hour, Saigon Jewelry Company Limited listed gold rings at VND111.7 million/tael (buy) - VND114.7 million/tael (sell), down VND800,000/tael each way compared to the opening price of the same day.

Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited reduced 500,000 VND/tael each way, down to 114 million VND/tael (buying) and 117 million VND/tael (selling).

Following the same trend, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company reduced from 112.5 million VND/tael (buy) - 115.5 million VND/tael (sell) to 111.7 million VND/tael (buy) - 114.7 million VND/tael (sell).

Notably, the price of SJC gold bars decreased sharply. The company listed the price at 115.7 million VND/tael (buy) - 118.7 million VND/tael (sell), lower than the opening price by 2.8 million VND/tael (buy) and 2.1 million VND/tael (sell).

This morning, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 3 million VND/tael (buying price) and 2.6 million VND/tael (selling price), the price of gold rings increased by 1-2 million VND/tael.

With the above developments, the price of gold bars increased by 200,000 VND/tael (buying price) and 500,000 VND/tael (selling price) compared to the end of yesterday, the price of gold rings also increased by 500,000-1,200,000 VND/tael.

Domestic gold prices reversed and decreased due to a sharp drop in world gold prices. At 6 p.m., international gold prices were trading at $3,174/ounce, compared to $3,225.5/ounce on the same day.

The converted world gold price is about 18.4 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price.
