Gold price increased by 1.7 million VND/tael this week

On the weekend of July 5-7, the price of gold did not fluctuate. Overall for the week, the price of the precious metal increased by 1.7 million VND.

At nearly 9:00 a.m., the company listed the price of SJC gold bars at 118.9 million VND/tael (buy) - 120.9 million VND/tael (sell), unchanged from the end of the previous day.

The price of gold rings also remained unchanged. Saigon Jewelry Company Limited continued to keep it at 114.3 million VND/tael (buy) - 116.8 million VND/tael (sell).

Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited set the price at 115.7 million VND/tael (buy) - 118.7 million VND/tael (sell), unchanged from the end of the previous day.

Looking back at the domestic gold market, on the first day of the week June 30, the domestic gold price increased by 300,000 VND/tael each way, to 117.5 million VND/tael (buy) - 119.5 million VND/tael (sell).

The next day, the world gold price increased sharply to over 3,300 USD/ounce as investors increased their purchases after the price decreased. Therefore, the domestic gold price "increased" by 1.2 million VND/tael, up to 118.7 million VND/tael (buy) - 120.7 million VND/tael (sell).

After a day of stagnation, on July 3, the gold price increased by 600,000 VND/tael, surpassing the 121 million VND/tael mark, reaching 119.3 million VND/tael (buy) - 121.3 million VND/tael (sell).

However, on July 4, the gold price reversed, falling by 400,000 VND/tael, slipping below the 121 million VND/tael mark because the world price of precious metals went down.

With the above developments, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 1.7 million VND/tael during the week, equivalent to more than 1.4%.

The price of gold rings also fluctuated similarly but the increase was lower.

According to the Hanoi Statistics Office, the gold price index in June decreased by 1.45% compared to the previous month, increased by 38.38% compared to December 2024 and increased by 55.11% compared to the same period last year. On average, in the second quarter of 2025, the gold price index increased by 52.6% compared to the average in the second quarter of 2024.

On average, in the first 6 months of this year, the gold price index increased by 45.25% compared to the average in the first 6 months of last year.
