Fuel prices increased simultaneously at 3 PM on September 18th.

The price of RON 95-III gasoline (the most common type on the market) increased by 200 VND, to 20,600 VND/liter, while E5 RON 92 also increased by 230 VND, reaching 19,980 VND. Similarly, diesel fuel increased by 60 VND, to 18,700 VND/liter. Compared to 7 days ago, kerosene is priced at 18,540 VND per liter, and fuel oil at 15,130 VND.

From August 1st, the two largest distributors of petroleum products, Petrolimex and PVOIL, will pilot the sale of E10 gasoline – a biofuel blend of 10% ethanol with conventional gasoline. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is also proposing to only sell E10 gasoline from the beginning of 2026.

However, regarding E10 gasoline, the head of the Department of Industry and Trade stated that Hue City recently sent official letter No. 12621/UBND dated September 10, 2025 to the Ministry of Industry and Trade requesting consideration and research on a phased application roadmap, with gradually increasing percentages to allow consumers and businesses time to adapt.

Specifically, from 2026 to 2028: All gasoline sold on the market will be blended and sold with a ratio of 50% biofuel and 50% traditional fuel. If a gas station has only one storage tank, it will be mandatory to sell only biofuel. From 2029 to 2030: All gasoline sold nationwide will be E10 gasoline. From the beginning of 2031: All gasoline sold on the market will be E15 gasoline or other types of biofuel with a blending ratio as stipulated by the Minister of Industry and Trade.
