Increase economic value
One of the typical examples of deep processing model in Dak Nong is the cordyceps mushroom product of Nam Vang and Hoa High-tech Agriculture Company Limited, Gia Nghia City.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nu, Director of the Company, shared that the Cordyceps mushroom product is created by modern technology from the time of seeding, mushroom cultivation and finished product drying. The whole process is continuously invested in, improved machinery and equipment by the company to produce the highest quality mushrooms.
To improve product quality, the company is investing in expanding the factory and purchasing modern machinery, including a freeze dryer with large capacity, to improve the production process.
In addition to fresh and dried cordyceps products, the company also produces cordyceps wine, cordyceps bird's nest, and cordyceps ginseng. In 2021, the company had 2 products certified with 3-star OCOP.
In 2024, the company strives to upgrade products to 4-star OCOP and expand export markets.
“We have reached customers in the US and are planning to develop the market strongly on e-commerce channels,” said Ms. Nu.
The lingzhi mushroom products of Nguyen Thi Toan, a business owner in Nhan Co Commune, Dak R'lap District, are also highly appreciated for their quality. Ms. Toan said that this product is easy to grow, with abundant raw materials, mainly from rubber tree sawdust, rice flour and corn flour.
"We do not use any additives at all, so our lingzhi mushroom products are of high quality and have medicinal properties equivalent to natural mushrooms," Ms. Toan shared.
To increase product value, the facility has invested in purchasing modern machinery for production such as: steaming, sterilizing drying, slicing and vacuuming lines.
The facility has completed the inoculation rooms, mycelium incubation rooms and nurturing workshops, meeting the conditions of temperature, light, humidity, etc.
On average, each year, the facility supplies the market with about 2 tons of fresh lingzhi mushrooms, equivalent to nearly 500kg of dried mushrooms. The selling price is about 800,000 VND/kg.
“Deep processing has helped us increase the value of our products and expand our consumption market. Thanks to that, our family income has also increased significantly,” said Ms. Toan.
Power to develop
According to information from the Department of Industry and Trade, industrial promotion activities have promptly encouraged and supported rural industrial establishments in investing in modern machinery and technology to deeply process commodity products.
This funding source mainly supports investors in building and upgrading infrastructure, purchasing machinery and equipment... This has helped improve competitiveness and affirm product brands in the market.
During the 2022-2023 period, national and local industrial promotion supported Dak Nong in implementing 22 projects with a total budget of more than 10.3 billion VND. In 2024 alone, local industrial promotion budget allocated 1.8 billion VND for product development.

Developing deep processing has become an inevitable trend. Deep processing is not simply the processing of agricultural products into consumer products but also includes the exploitation and optimization of the value of each raw material. This helps to minimize waste and increase the competitiveness of local agricultural products.
The development of deep processing also creates sustainable employment opportunities for local people. According to statistics, the average income of workers in the agricultural processing industry in Dak Nong is from 4 to 6 million VND/month.
