Minimize the risk of drowning for children.

On the afternoon of May 29th, the Phan Thiet Ward Police (Lam Dong province) announced that they had coordinated with relevant agencies to complete all necessary procedures after finding the body of NHPT, a child who had drowned, and handed it over to the family for burial.

According to initial information, on the afternoon of May 28th, NHPT (born in 2013, residing in Phu Thuy ward) went swimming at Doi Duong beach (Phan Thiet ward) with a group of friends. That evening, her friends couldn't find her and notified her family and authorities. Authorities mobilized resources and local residents to search along the beach, but she was not found.

By early afternoon on May 29th, authorities found the body of NHPT at Doi Duong beach. Phan Thiet ward police were present at the scene to carry out the necessary procedures.

Every summer brings a series of tragic drowning incidents. Just one moment of carelessness can leave immense pain for families and loved ones. Authorities advise families to regularly remind their children to avoid swimming in the sea, rivers, and streams without adult supervision. They should not swim in deep water, areas with strong waves, or places without lifeguards.

Lam Dong province has directed relevant agencies to coordinate with local authorities to promote safe swimming lessons for children throughout the province, ensuring that more and more children learn to swim safely and acquire water safety skills to prevent and minimize the risk of drowning.

Many localities in Lam Dong province have recently recorded a series of drowning incidents. According to statistics from February 15, 2026 to the present, the province has experienced 15 tragic drowning incidents resulting in 16 deaths, including 6 children.

The main causes stem from people's negligence when swimming in the sea, rivers, lakes, and streams, or traveling by boat without safety equipment. Families fail to supervise young children, allowing them to freely play in deep water areas, leading to drownings. Local authorities have not implemented decisive measures to prevent and combat drowning accidents. Public awareness campaigns and outreach efforts have not been consistent or continuous...
