I have right kidney dilatation and left kidney hydronephrosis grade 1. Am I at risk of kidney failure? Please advise on treatment and prevention methods. (Dieu Linh, 35 years old, Ninh Thuan )

Hydronephrosis or hydronephrosis is a blockage inside the renal pelvis that prevents urine from moving through the tube to the bladder and then being excreted as normal. There are many causes of this condition, mainly due to obstruction in the urinary tract, such as stones.
Hydronephrosis has two forms, acute and chronic. If acute grade 1 hydronephrosis is caused by foreign objects or stones, it can be treated by removing the obstruction from the kidney and urinary tract.
However, in cases of chronic grade 1 hydronephrosis, especially long-term disease, despite intervention to remove the agents that block the urinary tract, this condition still persists.
In general, hydronephrosis at level 1 is not dangerous. Patients only need to drink plenty of water to improve urine flow. Do not hold urine for long, feel the need to urinate immediately to avoid infection.
The disease can progress to more severe levels, even kidney failure, seriously affecting health. Patients should go to a medical facility for a kidney ultrasound every 3-6 months to monitor the disease progression and have an appropriate treatment plan.
Do not take diuretics on your own when urine output decreases without a clear cause, to avoid more serious hydronephrosis and the risk of kidney rupture.
