What did Duc Phuc say after winning the music competition in Russia?

In the early morning of September 21, Vietnam time (the evening of September 20 in Russia), singer Duc Phuc marked a brilliant milestone in his career when he was crowned champion at the Intervision Song Contest 2025, held at the Live Arena stadium (Moscow, Russia).

With a total score of 422, the Vietnamese male singer far surpassed the Nomad trio (Kyrgyzstan) - the runner-up with 373 points. In addition to the prestigious crystal trophy, Duc Phuc also received a prize of 30 million rubles (about 360,000 USD, equivalent to more than 9 billion VND).

On his personal page, Duc Phuc shared the moment his name was called for the highest position, making history for Vietnam in the international music competition. The male singer expressed: "That moment will be deeply engraved in this little heart! Duc Phuc from Vietnam".

Under the post, many colleagues and audiences congratulated the male singer. Hoa Minzy also shared the joy with Duc Phuc, she and Erik were in Russia to cheer him on.

"My sister did it, bringing the national cultural identity to the world . Exactly 10 years ago - September 20, 2015, she became The Voice Champion. 10 years later - September 20, 2025, she became Intervision 2025 Champion," Hoa Minzy shared.

At Intervision 2025, Duc Phuc performed the song Phu Dong Thien Vuong - composed by musician Ho Hoai Anh, inspired by the poem Tre Viet Nam by Nguyen Duy. The melody and lyrics of the song carry a heroic spirit, recreating the image of the hero of the village of Giong, while sending a message about the vitality, will and indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people.

The artist said, " The story of Saint Giong - Phu Dong Thien Vuong and the image of the Vietnamese bamboo tree are not only Vietnamese legends, but also common symbols for the fighting spirit and the ability to overcome challenges and resilience of the Vietnamese people.

Phuc hopes international audiences will feel the beauty of Vietnamese culture and find empathy and inspiration for their own journeys ."

During the performance, the stage was filled with familiar images of Vietnam such as conical hats and sedge mats, combined with choreography and spectacular lighting effects. Duc Phuc shared: “I have prepared a song specifically for the contest, fully embodying the cultural identity, spirit and image of Vietnam to introduce to international friends.”

Intervision 2025 marks the first time this prestigious international music competition has been held in Russia after a hiatus of more than 30 years. This year, the competition brings together 23 countries. Each country has 1 singer participating in the competition and 1 representative on the jury. Vietnam sent musician Nguyen Trong Dai – who studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory – as a judge.

Duc Phuc left for Russia on September 11, participating in many sideline activities, and working directly with the technical team to check the sound, lighting, and visual effects. The male singer said he considered this a rare opportunity to bring Vietnamese images and music to the world.

Duc Phuc was born in 1996, a student of Architecture at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. He had a passion for singing since he was young, but only really shone when he participated in The Voice of Vietnam 2015. Under the guidance of My Tam, Duc Phuc won the championship with an overwhelming number of votes.

After 9 years of working in the arts, the male singer has owned a series of famous hits such as Het thuong can nho, Hon ca yeu, Di chua cau duyen, Ngay dau dau, Em dong y... Now, with the Intervision 2025 championship trophy, Duc Phuc has officially made his name in history, becoming the pride of Vietnamese music in the international arena.
