On April 12, in Brussels, the Embassy - Delegation of Vietnam to Belgium and the European Union (EU) together with the Embassy of Vietnam in the Netherlands co-organized an exchange activity to celebrate the traditional Bun Pi May New Year with the Embassy - Delegation of Laos to Belgium and the EU, concurrently in the Netherlands.
The meeting was attended by officials and staff of the embassies of the two countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to Belgium and the EU Nguyen Van Thao reaffirmed the importance of the solidarity and special relationship between Vietnam and Laos , with the glorious history of the Vietnam-Laos solidarity alliance, the consistent assistance and support between the two Parties, two countries and peoples during the struggle for independence for the two nations in the past and in the cause of national construction, development and protection in each country today.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao also sent his best wishes to the Lao Party, State and people on the occasion of the traditional New Year Bun Pi May 2023, as well as wishes for health, happiness and success to the Lao Ambassador and all staff of the Lao Embassy in Brussels.
Ambassador Pham Viet Anh thanked the Lao Ambassador for his close coordination despite being in two different countries; expressed his joy at the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos that is increasingly developing, deepening and becoming more practical; affirmed that Vietnam will do its utmost with Laos to preserve, cultivate and pass on to future generations the special solidarity between the two sides.

The Ambassadors expressed their hope that the Embassies of the two countries in Belgium and the Netherlands will continue to promote exchange activities to strengthen the connection between the three agencies' staff, contributing to the special Vietnam-Laos relationship while actively supporting each other to strengthen the relations of each side with Belgium, the Netherlands and the EU in the coming time.

The exchange took place in a friendly and cozy atmosphere. The parties prepared special dishes of each side such as chicken sausage, sausage, Lao sticky rice, spring rolls, Vietnamese vermicelli with grilled pork and participated in fun and friendly exchange activities such as karaoke, lam-vong dance, bamboo dance, table tennis, and interactive group games.
