People's diplomacy of Hanoi Capital joins the flow of the new era

On July 4, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (Hanoi Union of Friendship) held a preliminary review of people-to-people diplomacy in the first 6 months of the year; and deployed tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

Attending the conference were Chairman of the Hanoi Friendship Union Nguyen Ngoc Ky; Vice Chairmen, Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the Hanoi Union; Friendship Associations and member organizations, and press agencies of the Central and City.

At the Conference, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Friendship Union Tran Thi Phuong presented the results of the first 6 months of the year and key tasks for the last 6 months of 2025, identifying 5 main goals including: Planning, building mechanisms - policies, administration - organization and force development; peace , solidarity, friendship and cooperation activities; activities to celebrate major holidays; foreign information work; research, situation grasping, forecasting, training, seminars; organizing term congresses of associations and member organizations.

At the Conference, there were 2 presentations and 3 comments from representatives of Associations, member organizations and the Capital People's Foreign Affairs Advisory Council.

All opinions highly appreciated the activities of the Hanoi Union in the first 6 months of the year and emphasized the significance and role of people's diplomacy as well as measures to promote the implementation of people's diplomacy in a more comprehensive and diverse manner, with more flexible approaches and forms of operation.

It can be affirmed that, closely following the guiding ideology and major orientation of the Party and General Secretary To Lam on the new era, the era of national development, in recent times, the Hanoi Friendship Union has proactively and creatively implemented activities of peace, solidarity, friendship, cooperation, protocol and foreign information; welcoming the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Hanoi Party Committee, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

In particular, the Hanoi Friendship Union has upgraded its Electronic Information Page into a professional and modern Electronic Information Portal.

Emphasizing that the Capital and the whole country have entered a historical period of "rearranging the country", officially operating the 2-level local government model, Chairman of the Hanoi Friendship Union Nguyen Ngoc Ky suggested that in the coming time, the Associations and member organizations focus on thoroughly grasping the "four pillars" of Resolutions 57, 59, 66 and 68; proactively and creatively implementing the revised Law on the Capital, especially the provisions on strengthening people-to-people diplomacy.

In particular, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ky emphasized advising the City Party Committee to issue a Directive on people's diplomacy; an Action Program to promote the title "City for Peace", advising the City People's Council to issue a Resolution on the mechanism of people's diplomacy policy of the Capital; at the same time, continuing to innovate and create methods of organizing annual peace and friendship activities associated with political and diplomatic events of the City and the country, promoting people's diplomacy worthy of the position of the Capital.
