On January 25th, the Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, Le Hoai Nam, issued a document guiding schools on the implementation of distributing Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts for teachers, staff, civil servants, and employees in 2024.
Accordingly, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training instructed public schools to distribute Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts at a rate of 1.8 million VND per person, using funds from the state budget.
To ensure timely distribution of Tet gifts to teachers, officials, civil servants, and employees, Mr. Le Hoai Nam suggested that schools allocate funds from the budget set for 2024.
At the same time, units should submit written requests for supplementary budget allocations for 2024 (non-autonomous funding, non-recurring funding) along with the unit's January 2024 payroll to justify the supplementary budget.
In addition to the Tet holiday gift of 1.8 million VND per person, during this period, officials, teachers, and staff in Ho Chi Minh City also receive additional income according to Resolution No. 08 of 2023 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on the payment of additional income in accordance with Resolution No. 98 of 2023 of the National Assembly on piloting some special mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City. This is a special mechanism of Ho Chi Minh City that has been implemented since 2018.
