Introducing Da Nang tourism in India

The event aims to promote tourism development cooperation between Da Nang and Ahmedabad through direct flight connection of Vietjet Air, while enhancing communication and promoting the journey "Enjoy multi-experience Da Nang" to Indian tourists.

The program was attended by the Consul General of Vietnam in India; representatives of Indian Tourism Associations including TAAI, TAFI, OTOAI, GTAA; and more than 100 guests who are tourism businesses in Ahmedabad city.

The program to introduce Da Nang tourism in Ahmedabad includes many activities such as a business connection space, screening of films promoting Da Nang tourism, introducing information about the direct flight route Ahmedabad - Da Nang, and tourism products and services of Da Nang, Vietnam.

The highlight of the cultural experience in the program is the performance of the traditional Ao Dai collection with the participation of Ms. Rhea Singha - Miss Universe India 2024.

According to a representative of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, identifying India as one of the potential markets, Da Nang tourism is focusing on the tastes and experiences of tourists to make Da Nang a friendly and attractive destination for Indian tourists.

Since 2022, India has risen to be in the top 5 international tourist markets of Da Nang. It is estimated that for every two Indian tourists coming to Vietnam, one chooses Da Nang as a stopover. Currently, Da Nang has more than 25 Indian restaurants.

Currently, Vietjet Air is the only airline operating direct flights between Da Nang and Ahmedabad with a frequency of 2 flights/week, contributing significantly to the growth of Indian visitors from Gujarat. Since October 2024, there have been 75 flights from Da Nang to Ahmedabad and vice versa with more than 8,600 passengers.

In 2024, Da Nang welcomed more than 222,000 Indian visitors (accounting for 5.3% of the structure of international visitors to Da Nang) and nearly 50% of the total number of Indian visitors to Vietnam (501,427 thousand).

Notably, compared to 2019, the peak period of tourism before the COVID-19 pandemic, the total number of Indian visitors to Da Nang increased more than 13.5 times.
