Tet Reunion
At the end of the year, understanding the longing for reunion of students far from home and facing difficult circumstances, the Student Union of the University of Technology - Da Nang University organized the program "The University of Technology Bus - Bringing Spring Home in the Year of the Horse 2026".
According to Truong Ngoc Son, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Polytechnic University, this is the second year the university has organized a bus trip to take students home for Tet (Lunar New Year). This year, the university is accepting registrations from January 9th to 17th, open to all students currently studying at the university. The free buses are expected to depart on February 7th (the 20th day of the 12th lunar month), taking students to provinces in the North, up to Nghe An province, and in the South, up to Khanh Hoa province.
Participating in the "Polytechnic University Bus Trip," students receive free bus tickets, helping to alleviate the financial burden at the end of the year, especially for those from disadvantaged backgrounds or families affected by natural disasters. The journey home is organized by the university with a clear route, reliable transportation, and dedicated support staff, ensuring students feel secure on their long journey. In addition to free transportation home, the university is also raising funds to give each student a Tet (Lunar New Year) gift.
With the desire to maintain and spread the humanitarian values of the program, the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Technology sends an open letter, calling for the support of organizations, businesses, and philanthropists so that each trip contributes to spreading humanitarian values and community responsibility, helping students to take firmer steps on their academic path.
In the same spirit of sharing, within the framework of the "Spring Volunteer" program 2026, Dong A University donated 350 Tet holiday bus tickets, totaling 70 million VND, to disadvantaged students from the Central and Central Highlands regions studying at the university. Receiving the Tet holiday bus tickets from the university's leaders, Hong Thi Truc Giang (from Dak Lak province), an E-commerce student at Dong A University, shared: “My family lives in an area severely affected by the floods at the end of 2025, so we are facing great difficulties. With the bus ticket home for Tet from the university, I have one less worry about expenses during the end of the year and can rest assured that I can go home to reunite with my family.”
Spreading humanitarian values
Besides donating bus tickets for the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), Dong A University also allocated 300 million VND to support nearly 200 students whose families suffered heavy losses due to natural disasters and floods last year, helping to alleviate some of their difficulties and instill confidence in them to continue attending school. According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, Rector of Dong A University, this is the 14th year the university has organized the Lunar New Year bus ticket donation program. A total of 5,159 tickets have been distributed, each worth 200,000 VND.

Funding for the program comes from contributions from faculty members, support from businesses, and creative fundraising activities carried out by the students themselves, demonstrating a spirit of community responsibility and sharing.
Similarly, Da Nang College is also organizing the "Reunion Bus Trip - Spring Festival 2026," scheduled to depart in early February 2026. The bus route will travel to provinces in the North, reaching Quang Tri province, and to provinces in the South, reaching Gia Lai province. Priority will be given to students from disadvantaged families, ethnic minorities, remote areas, and areas affected by natural disasters, helping them enjoy a complete Tet holiday with their loved ones.
During the Lunar New Year of 2026 (Year of the Horse), the "Free Transportation for Needy People" Club (affiliated with the City Red Cross Society) continued to organize free transportation for students and impoverished workers to return home for the Tet holiday. Mr. Ho Ngoc Thanh, the head of the "Free Transportation for Needy People" Club, stated that this is an annual activity of the club aimed at supporting poor workers and disadvantaged students to return home for Tet.
To date, over 200 students have registered to participate in the free bus service, mostly to Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces. The club is continuing to solicit donations from benefactors to secure more resources to help these free bus trips get underway soon, bringing a complete Tet holiday to everyone.
