Resolving difficulties to create new momentum for education - Final episode: Solutions from digital transformation, building happy schools

To be consistent with the 2018 General Education Program and adapt to the digital age, in addition to solving difficulties in the new context, to create momentum for the education sector, digital transformation (DX) is considered an important task and solution, along with the direction of building happy schools.

Digital transformation in teaching and learning is not only about upgrading technological tools, but also about fundamentally changing the mindset, methods, and educational structure, from digitalizing data, building digital ecosystems, digital capacity for the entire industry to solving challenges in remote areas, all directions are towards a modern, fair and creative education. Currently, all schools in the province have applied digital transformation in digitizing records, professional books, teaching plans, lesson plans, homeroom books... and managing them on an online platform. The work of managing scores and electronic transcripts through student management software ensures transparency, objectivity, saves time and helps parents easily monitor their children's learning results. Many schools also use digital platforms such as: SMAS software, Zalo OA, electronic contact books to update students' learning and training situation promptly and accurately...

Duy Tan High School (Binh Kien Ward) is one of the schools that has done well in digital transformation in education. Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Principal of Duy Tan High School, said: “In recent years, the school has focused on investing in and applying digital transformation in management, teaching and learning. All teachers use teaching support software such as: PowerPoint, Canva, Google Forms, Quizizz, Kahoot, Padlet... The school also organizes online classes via: Zoom, Google Meet... when necessary”.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School (Ea Knuec Commune) chose digital transformation as a breakthrough in implementing its tasks for the school year. Accordingly, the school organized for all staff, teachers, and employees to access AI applications in management, operation, and teaching. The school installed surveillance cameras in classrooms, connecting with school leaders to observe and check teaching and learning activities in each class. Ms. Than Thi Nhung, Party Cell Secretary and Principal of the school, shared: "According to the direction of the Ea Knuec Commune Party Committee, the school has thoroughly informed all staff, teachers, and employees about promoting digital transformation in schools. AI applications have been, are, and continue to be selectively deployed, suitable for the educational environment to achieve the highest efficiency."

Ea Knuec Commune Party Secretary Ngo Thi Minh Trinh said: “Ea Knuec Commune chooses digital transformation as a premise to promote breakthrough development of the education sector in the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo . This process will be implemented synchronously, from investing in facilities to improving the digital technology adaptation capacity of cadres and teachers. The goal is to educate students to gradually become digital citizens in the future.”

According to Party Secretary and Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Thanh Xuan, 100% of schools in the province have organized for teachers to effectively exploit open learning resources, video lectures, E-Learning lectures, online exam banks... with different levels of application and utilization depending on the actual conditions of each school, in order to innovate teaching methods towards developing students' capacity.

Building happy schools is a major goal of the education sector and also an important solution to awaken the internal strength of schools, each cadre, party member, teacher and student in the current context.

To achieve this goal, Le Hong Phong High School (Tay Hoa commune) has implemented 5 solutions. Among them, promoting the key role of homeroom teachers - "sowers of happiness"; diversifying playgrounds - nurturing talents; creating timely incentive mechanisms for dedicated and creative teachers; closely connecting schools, families and organizations in the work of discovering and nurturing students' talents; building a "connected and sharing" learning environment.

The school builds open spaces such as libraries, common rooms, garden areas... so that students and teachers can relax, interact and exchange knowledge naturally. Group learning models, discussions and debates are encouraged, thereby helping students practice teamwork skills, respect other people's opinions and solve problems together.

Pham Gia Bao, class 12A1, Le Hong Phong High School, shared: “What makes me happiest is that my teachers care, listen and encourage me. Thanks to that, I am more confident when speaking up and participating in extracurricular activities. I see the school as my second home, every day at school is a truly happy day.”

Since implementing the "Happy School" model, Le Hong Phong High School has continuously achieved outstanding achievements in studying, training and movements. "Every year, the rate of students passing high school graduation is 100%, passing university and college entrance exams is approximately 90%. The results of the provincial excellent student exam in the last 5 years reached 491 prizes, including 10 first prizes; many students won high prizes in the national excellent student exam. In the 2023 - 2024 school year, Dinh Nhu Phat, class 12A1, won third prize in Math in the national excellent student exam. Tran Trung Kien, class 11A1, won third prize in the Olympia Finals, which is also the first time bringing live television to Phu Yen province (old)...", Ms. Tran Thi Le Thuy, Party Committee Secretary, Principal of Le Hong Phong High School excitedly said.

Another school that has achieved many results in building a “Happy School” is Cao Ba Quat Secondary School (Ea Knop Commune). Not only focusing on improving the quality of teaching and learning, the school has also established academic and sports clubs, and organized life skills education and extracurricular activities... creating an environment for students to practice skills and develop their abilities in a healthy educational environment.

Mr. Tang Tan Ban, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Vice Principal of Cao Ba Quat Secondary School, said that over the years, the school has always aimed at providing comprehensive education for students. Every year, the school launches emulation movements to teach well, study well, and at the same time creates green spaces in classrooms and playgrounds for students to study, practice sports, and participate in cultural and artistic activities; thereby creating a friendly school environment, where students and teachers are happy when coming to school.
