Google will add AI features to Chrome browser

The first AI feature among the new updates Google has equipped Chrome with is "browser tab groups," which helps users reorganize open windows in tabbed format. Chrome will automatically suggest and group open tabs based on the content the user is browsing.

Google says using this feature is quite simple: users just right-click on any open tab to bring up the options window, then select "Organize Similar Tabs." Artificial intelligence will automatically find all open tabs with similar content and group them into a single category, suggesting names and emojis for users to bookmark, making it easier to find later.

Google Chrome will soon have more AI features to assist users.

Another AI feature on Chrome will be a smart assistant to help users during the writing process. This feature is expected to give users more confidence (at least in terms of spelling and writing style) when writing social media posts or emails. AI also helps with many writing tasks because users simply right-click on the text box, select "Help Me Write," and enter some keywords; the artificial intelligence will understand the intention and begin its work.

The final feature seems less important than the two tools mentioned, as it's simply a utility to create custom themes for use on Chrome. Similar to Google's Pixel 8 phone, users can now create themes based on their mood, colors, art style, etc., giving Chrome a "new look" with just a few clicks on suggested keywords.

Updates to browser tab grouping and AI-powered theme creation are expected to roll out globally in the next few days, while AI-assisted text editing will not be available until at least February.

Google says that this year will see the addition of more AI and machine learning features to Chrome. In particular, there will be the introduction of the latest artificial intelligence model called Gemini, which the company announced not long ago.
