In the vibrant atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, Hanoi has recorded impressive growth in tourism .
In August 2025 alone, the capital welcomed about 3.18 million visitors, an increase of 27.5% over the same period last year.
In August, international visitors reached 709,22 thousand arrivals, up 42.6%, including 500 thousand overnight stays.
The number of domestic visitors also increased sharply, reaching 2.47 million, bringing total tourism revenue in the month to VND 12.54 trillion, 31.5% higher than in August 2024. The average room occupancy rate of the hotel system reached 59%.
In the first 8 months of 2025, Hanoi is estimated to welcome 21.58 million visitors, an increase of 13.9% over the same period last year.
Of these, international visitors accounted for 4.96 million, up 25.8% (including 3.49 million overnight stays), while domestic visitors reached 16.62 million, up 10.7%. Total tourism revenue of the whole city reached nearly 86 trillion VND, up 17.1% compared to 2024.
Along with this achievement, the Hanoi Department of Tourism is urgently completing the Project to innovate the management model, preserve and promote the value of the Huong Son Special National Relic Site (Huong Pagoda).
At the same time, plans to launch new tourism products with the theme "Hanoi Tourism - Convergence of Essence 2025" are also being implemented.
Next September, many special cultural and tourism events will take place, including the Hanoi Beverage Festival 2025, Hanoi Autumn Festival 2025, and Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2025.
Participate in the Four Directions Food Festival in Hue city, Thanh Tuyen Festival in Tuyen Quang.
At the international level, Hanoi will participate in the ITE International Tourism Fair in Ho Chi Minh City, ITB India (India), IFTM Top Resa (France), as well as activities to promote Vietnamese tourism in the Indian and French markets.
In addition, the city is also promoting local cooperation, developing training plans and surveys to connect destinations with travel businesses. Many new products are being focused on development such as agricultural tourism, rural tourism, community tourism associated with ethnic minority culture, night tourism products and unique destinations such as the Hanoi Beer Museum.
These steps show that Hanoi is proactively renewing itself, not only increasing the number of visitors but also aiming to enhance the experience, affirming its position as a cultural tourism destination, converging the top elites in the region.
