The special painting exhibition titled Hello Vietnam - My Homeland is a special painting exhibition by artist Ngo Ba Hoang currently displayed at the Hanoi Museum (Pham Hung Street, Hanoi) to express gratitude to the country on the occasion of the 80th National Day, September 2.
Painter Ngo Ba Hoang and more than 40 artists for a passionate project
63 paintings are combined into a continuous work running along the wall of Hanoi Museum, more than 300m long, depicting the landscape, people, natural characteristics and culture of the lands across the country.
The artist chose acrylic paint on canvas to express this special project to honor the unique cultural values, good traditions, nature and people of Vietnam.

As a lecturer majoring in monumental painting at the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts, in 2024, artist Ngo Ba Hoang began sketching the painting Hello Vietnam - My Homeland.
Then he and more than 40 of his fellow artists and students set out to create this series of paintings on large canvas.
The homeland of Vietnam gradually appears vividly from Lung Cu to Ca Mau cape. Each stroke not only recreates the majestic natural beauty, but also honors the cultural identity and people of Vietnam through each region of the country.

Wrapping the whole of Vietnam in one picture
Viewers will be able to travel around Vietnam, visit the poetic Northwest with its white plum blossom forests, the majestic Hoang Lien Son range and golden terraced fields shining in the sun, H'Mong girls radiant in colorful brocade dresses, the winding Nho Que River, stone walls, ancient wooden gates and children carrying yellow mustard flowers on their backs...
Then “to” Ha Giang to see Ma Pi Leng peak, water wheels spinning by the stream, and Thai girls happily in the golden rice fields. Passed Dien Bien to see the bustling Ban flower festival with girls dancing with fans under the canopy of white Ban trees in the forest.
The vast Northeast region appears with lakes as calm as mirrors, reflecting the mountains; the gentle Lu girl in the conical hat dance, two Tay girls passionately playing the Tinh lute by the Ban Gioc waterfall.

Then the palm forests, tea hills in the land of the ancestors, blooming peach blossoms in Mau Son, Dao Tien girls embroidering by wooden windows, Tam Dao peak hidden in the mist.
And Dong Pagoda with the statue of Buddha King Tran Nhan Tong in the sacred Yen Tu mountain.

There is Yen stream, Huong pagoda, One Pillar pagoda, Khue Van pavilion, Ngoc Son temple, The Huc bridge, National Assembly building.
Continuing on, viewers can admire Bac Ninh Quan Ho melodies, ancient Cheo excerpts in the temple yard, Trang An scenic spot, Tam Chuc pagoda; passing Lam Kinh, Ho Dynasty citadel, Ham Rong bridge, and returning to Uncle Ho's hometown Sen village.
And we cannot miss the ancient citadel of Quang Tri; the poetic Huong River, embracing the Imperial City of Hue; the quiet ancient town of Hoi An by the Hoai River, the winding Dragon Bridge on the Han River, the Da Dia Rapids, the Ro Pool; Cham girls carrying water jars walking gently on the immense sunny golden sand dunes.
Then visit the communal house, the boys and girls of the Central Highlands, to the golden rice fields stretching along the gentle river of the Southeast region.
Coming to Nha Rong Wharf, you will see a youthful and dynamic city named after Uncle Ho, then Ba Den Mountain, then a dense network of canals, vast waves, bamboo bridges; shy Western girls in traditional Vietnamese dresses and scarves; ancient Khmer pagodas and towers in the Mekong Delta...

Painter Ngo Ba Hoang shared that with this collection of paintings, he hopes that every Vietnamese person, especially the young generation, will understand, love and be proud of their homeland and country more.
At the same time, he also hopes that the art of monumental painting will be widely accepted and loved by the public.
The exhibition runs until September 5, and will reopen when the Hanoi Museum opens in October or November 2025.
