Closing the 2025 Ao Dai Tourism Festival with a journey to shine the quintessence of heritage

On the evening of November 9 at the Hanoi Museum, the Hanoi Department of Tourism coordinated with relevant parties to organize the closing ceremony of the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2025 with the theme "Hanoi Ao Dai - Shining the quintessence of heritage". The event concluded a 4-day journey (from November 6 to 9) full of cultural colors, contributing to honoring the beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai in contemporary life and promoting the image of Hanoi - the capital of culture, civilization, and creativity to domestic and international friends.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Tran Quang emphasized that the 2025 Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival is organized with the "dual" mission of honoring and preserving the unique intangible cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese Ao Dai, raising public awareness, especially among young people, about preserving national cultural identity; developing and promoting tourism in the capital, linking heritage conservation activities with exploiting tourism economic values. The Organizing Committee believes that the festival will continue to become a "tourism ambassador" bringing the image of Hanoi and Vietnam to international friends, contributing to affirming the capital as a "Safe - Friendly - Quality - Attractive" destination.

The Hanoi Ao Dai Festival is an annual cultural and tourism activity organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, part of a series of events responding to the Thang Long - Hanoi Festival. This year, the festival brings together nearly 80 booths of designers, fashion brands, traditional craft villages, and art design schools, contributing to creating a rich cultural experience for people and tourists.

Among them are many prestigious names such as designers Duc Hung, La Hang, Ngoc Han, Quang Hoa, Quyen Nguyen, Van Phuc silk village, artisan Nghiem Van Dat - Trach Xa ao dai... and handmade accessory establishments. The festival attracted tens of thousands of visitors to visit, experience, take photos and interact in the photo exhibition space, the miniature landscape area recreating Khue Van Cac and familiar street corners of Hanoi .

A series of art performances and Ao Dai shows were held throughout. Notably, the Opening Night of “Hanoi Ao Dai – Shining the Essence of Heritage” recreated the journey of Ao Dai heritage from the ancestral land of Trach Xa tailoring to all three regions of the country. Designers brought colorful, modern collections that still had a strong Vietnamese identity.

Another highlight is the program “I love Hanoi” for children, gathering hundreds of child models in many vibrant collections, contributing to arousing love for the homeland and pride in Ao Dai in the young generation.

The final round of the “Ao Dai – Connecting Heritage” design competition took place with 10 outstanding collections from students of 5 universities in Hanoi. The three best collections were awarded high prizes, of which the first prize belonged to the collection “Thousand years of flowing water, life grows” by students of the University of Economics and Technology. The collection was highly appreciated by experts for its ideas and techniques, showing the strong creative potential of the young generation of designers.

The Ao Dai performance “Capital Women Integration and Development 2025” co-organized by the Hanoi Women’s Union and the Department of Tourism left many deep impressions. More than 600 women of the capital and professional designers performed to honor the beauty of Vietnamese women in the integration period, spreading the message of identity and aspiration to rise up.

The 2025 Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival has truly become a cultural meeting place for the people of the Capital, a place where tradition and creativity intersect. The rich and attractive activities help the public understand more about the history and cultural values ​​of Ao Dai, promoting the development of supporting industries such as design, textiles, handicrafts, fashion and tourism.

Following the success of the festival, the Organizing Committee will hold the Hanoi 2025 Ao Dai Tourism Parade on the afternoon of November 15 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and Hoan Kiem Lake walking space. The event is expected to gather a large number of artists, students, residents and tourists to participate, creating a vivid picture of Hanoi, where the Ao Dai color blends with the rhythm of urban life. In addition, the "Hanoi Autumn Touch Bus" tour for tourists in Ao Dai will be deployed, continuing to spread the image of an elegant and hospitable Hanoi.
