On the evening of November 8, in the space of Hanoi Museum, the art program Eternal Moment transformed the quiet museum space into a living heritage stage. This place is no longer a place to display artifacts sleeping behind glass cabinets, this program has become a beginning of creativity, where the past is revived through sound, light and performance art.

The manifesto "Delving into tradition to meet modernity" is fully expressed through a series of works combining music , dance and visual performance, when Eastern elements are blended with contemporary Western artistic thinking.

Dialogue across time, international connection

The participation of Swiss artist Dominique Barthassat in combination with Meritorious Artist Manh Hoach and Xuan Dieu brought contemporary European sounds, blended with Vietnamese folk instruments, creating a unique dialogue between two cultures.

This is one of the activities to expand artistic cooperation within the framework of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, contributing to bringing the image of Vietnamese culture closer to international friends, not only through the beauty of the past but also through the creativity of the present.

The artists performed 6 consecutive works: Khoi Thanh - Giao Thoi - Dong Thanh - Song & Hat - Mong Anh - Pho Reflexion . Each work is a "chapter" in the journey to find the essence of Vietnamese culture over time.

If Khoi Thanh is the greeting of the universe, then Pho Chinh is the reflection of today's people on their ancestors; between those two endpoints, the audience is led through a journey of memory, of intersection and of rebirth. All create a never-ending flow of art, like the "eternal" spirit that the program conveys.

Behind the success of the program is a prestigious creative team in the Vietnamese art scene: General Director and Music Director - Nguyen Quoc Hoang Anh; General Choreographer - People's Artist Tran Ly Ly; Stage Director and Space Designer - Ha Nguyen Long...

Driving force for strong development of cultural industry

Sharing with VietNamNet reporters after the performance, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Son, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Society , said that Hanoi is showing strong determination in developing the cultural industry, especially since being recognized by UNESCO as a Creative City in the world's network of creative cities (in 2019).

"Since then, Hanoi has continuously pursued the spirit of creativity through many different activities and events, spreading creative messages to all classes of people, especially the youth. Art programs like today are very proud," Mr. Son shared.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Son, art events combining traditional Vietnamese melodies and modern international sounds not only help renew the form of expression but also contribute to affirming national cultural identity in the global creative flow.

"What is more valuable is that these programs are performed by young people, a generation with energy, love and creative aspirations. When creativity is nurtured, it will spread and become the driving force for the strong development of the capital's cultural industry in the coming time," he emphasized.

Mr. Son believes that this event will be a premise to continue developing the audience, creating more impressions and new, more diverse and rich artistic products, meeting the enjoyment needs of young people in the future.

"From there, culture truly becomes a soft resource, contributing to promoting the country's sustainable development," Mr. Son affirmed.
