The highlight of his short stories is the combination of realistic and philosophical elements. He often uses everyday situations to highlight profound issues about life. This helps readers not only enjoy the story but also have the opportunity to reflect on life and themselves. In addition, Dinh Tien Hung's writing style is also a strong point. He uses coherent, easy-to-understand language but still full of hidden meanings, creating a special attraction for the work. Small details in the story often have profound meanings, making readers think and feel for a long time.

Folklore researcher Dinh Thanh Du assessed: “In Minh Hoa district (old) there is an extremely rich treasure of folk culture. However, research, collection and creation still face many limitations and difficulties due to the lack of recorded and oral documents. Therefore, the collected, created and researched works of Mr. Dinh Tien Hung are extremely valuable, contributing to the preservation and development of folk cultural values of the Nguon community and ethnic minorities in the area for future generations”.

Some poems have thoughts about people, time, pain and happiness, expressing the author's psychological depth. Poet Mai Van Hoan commented: "Dinh Tien Hung's poems often use quite traditional rhymes and rhythms, sometimes mixed with freer forms. The language in his poems is simple, not too ornate but still rich in imagery. His poems are sincere, honest, and simple like his human nature."
There are poems he wrote more than 40 years ago but only published after his retirement, such as the poem "Crying for Uncle Ho" expressing his infinite sorrow for the respected leader: "The whole country surrounded Uncle Ho's body/Solemnly stood to say goodbye to him/Do you know, Uncle Ho?/Sobbing, thousands of people are crying for Uncle Ho"... His love poems also always express many different levels and emotions, such as the poem "Waiting Wharf": "I know you will never come back/I still love and miss you so much, my dear!/In this world, there are so many waiting wharves/All of them have me sitting and watching the river flow"... There are love poems about sweet, passionate kisses, such as the poem "Love": "The two of us kiss, we kiss each other/Kiss your red lips, rosy cheeks/Kiss your hands, kiss your hair/Our two hearts are beating fast"...
