After a winning debut, Luciano Spalletti's journey as Juventus head coach has entered the predicted difficult trajectory.

In the Turin derby at home at Allianz Stadium, Juventus disappointed when they could not penetrate Torino's defense.

Although Juventus dominated at times in the first half, the match eventually ended without any goals being scored.

The home team tried to attack proactively, but coach Baroni's tactical plan (with Colucci directing from the technical bench) failed.

Torino's tactics worked. They defended solidly and counter-attacked quickly.

Chico Conceicao tried his luck several times in front of Alberto Paleari's goal, but failed. Likewise, Kephren Thuram and McKennie tried to break down Torino's disciplined defense.

However, that does not mean the away team was completely passive. On the contrary, the most dangerous opportunity in the first 45 minutes belonged to Torino.

Giovanni Simeone had a face-to-face situation with Di Gregorio, but handled it a bit slowly, shot low and allowed the Juventus goalkeeper to save in time.

Juventus almost paid a heavy price early in the second half. Gatti lost the ball in midfield, Torino counter-attacked and Simeone found the net through Di Gregorio but was ruled offside.

Torino played with confidence, with another chance for Simeone. This time, the former Napoli striker finished simply past Di Gregorio.

Coach Spalletti was forced to change tactics to find a way to break through the opponent's defense. Jonathan David was sent in, had a chance from Yildiz's assist, but goalkeeper Paleari quickly rushed out to close the angle.

Soon after, Paleari made a reflex save from Zhegrova's cross for McKennie to head in from close range.

That was when Juventus were at their best, constantly pressing and making Paleari the central figure of the match, he blocked Yildiz and then David.

In stoppage time, Openda missed a chance to score the winning goal. The 0-0 draw helped Spalletti reach 1,000 points in his coaching career in Serie A.

However, this was a disappointing result for Spalletti as the Old Lady had previously drawn with Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League. Juventus entered the international break with a lot of work to do.
