The level of landslide is dangerous.

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to declare an emergency situation of landslides on the Thanh Long islet dike - Phuoc Ly Nhi hamlet, Quoi Thien commune, length 225m (area from Mr. Phan Thanh Minh's household to Mrs. Le Thi Dong's household). The level of landslide is dangerous.

Landslide on Thanh Long islet occurred on October 23.

Development of landslide situation: On October 23, due to high tide, a 15m section of the dike in the Thanh Long sandbank area was completely broken. In addition, in the landslide area, there are 2 sections of the dike with high risk of further landslides, including: Section 1, 210m long, is the area adjacent to the landslide site, the current state of the landslide dike is very thin and Section 2, 317m long, about 200m upstream from the landslide site, this is a vulnerable area that needs to be reinforced and repaired in the coming time.

If timely reinforcement and remedial measures are not implemented, the landslide is forecast to continue to expand in scale, directly threatening the lives and property of 6 households with 23 people living there (due to the flooding height of about 2m).

Urgent measures need to be applied immediately to respond and overcome the consequences to prevent and minimize the damage caused by landslides: Put up signs and warnings in the landslide area so that people know not to go near the landslide area to ensure the health and safety of people; notify people in the area about the landslide situation. Monitor the development of the landslide situation in this area to have timely response measures; synthesize and report the damage caused by landslides according to regulations.

Support, propagate and mobilize households in landslide areas to relocate to safe places according to regulations; relevant departments, branches and units organize surveys, assessments, propose and deploy non-structural and structural solutions to handle landslides to minimize damage caused by landslides...
