Storyteller 2025: N Ly and Mai Diem My are equally talented and "take home" 2 perfect scores from Nhat Kim Anh and Ngoc Son

“The Storyteller 2025” episode 2 exploded with two excellent “debuts”. Both Mai Diem My and N Ly conquered the judges, receiving two perfect scores of 10 from Ngoc Son and Nhat Kim Anh.

The second competition night of “Love Storyteller 2025” with the theme “Artist’s Life” continues to bring a romantic musical space, where contestants must overcome challenges upon challenges: acting and singing at the same time.

On the hot seat, the three powerful judges, famous singer Thai Chau, musician Ngoc Son and singer and actress Nhat Kim Anh, all gave words of encouragement and expressed their anticipation. “You all have your own musical personalities, and your song choices are very suitable,” said judge Thai Chau. Meanwhile, Nhat Kim Anh shared her excitement: “We are looking forward to seeing what new things you will bring.”

Appearing in “The Storyteller”, Mai Diem My faced great pressure as she sang and acted for the first time. She shared her nervousness when having to remember her lines, understand the script and coordinate with her co-stars.

However, with the performance “Missing the Singer”, all worries seemed to disappear. Mai Diem My made a strong impression right from her confident and calm performance. And when she started singing, the judges were completely captivated.

Judge Nhat Kim Anh could not hide her emotions: “From your body, costume to the way you performed, everything was very calm and graceful. As soon as you started singing, I clapped my hands. What an excellent performance.” The female judge gave her a score of 10 without hesitation.

Singer-songwriter Ngoc Son also agreed, giving a "shower of compliments": "You sing very well, your voice is clear, clean and beautiful. Very emotional!". The male singer also gave a perfect score of 10. Only famous singer Thai Chau gave a more in-depth professional comment, he said that Mai Diem My's restraint in her vibrato was "just enough", creating a perfect fit for the song.

Not to be outdone, N Ly also had an explosive debut when she first tried her hand at combining acting and singing. With the song “Under the Stage Lights”, N Ly fully expressed the glorious yet lonely spirit of an artist. Her gentle voice, deep eyes and natural acting helped her touch the hearts of the audience and “grab” the next two 10s of the competition night.

Judge Nhat Kim Anh highly appreciated: "You have the qualities of an actress. Your dialogue and performance are very natural and graceful." Judge Ngoc Son went into detail about technique: "This song has a very wide range, but you keep your breath steady, not out of tune at all. The low notes are not sharp, but your high notes are very beautiful and smooth." Famous singer Thai Chau also acknowledged N Ly's "natural, clear dialogue" performance.

Contestant Doan Bao An with "Who took you home" scored strongly in his natural and profound acting. Although the singing part was a bit stressful, judges Thai Chau and Nhat Kim Anh still highly appreciated his ability to get into character emotionally. This is also Bao An's strength as he is a student of the University of Theatre and Cinema. However, Bao An will have to work harder on his singing skills in the following rounds.
