The program was organized by the National Committee of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations in coordination with the Gia Lai Literature and Arts Association, attracting 28 artists from Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong and Da Nang provinces to participate.
With over 200 works composed, edited, and completed, the writing camp is considered successful in expanding the creative space for artists.
Portraying the beauty of life
According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, many works from the above creative camp showed sincere emotions, fresh perspectives and seriousness in creative work, thereby affirming love for homeland, country and people.
Poet Mai Thin - former Chairman of the Literature and Arts Association of Binh Dinh province (old) said: Literature accounts for the majority of the total number of works composed and completed at the writing camp with about 70 works in various genres: poetry, short stories, memoirs... This is a quite large result completed in 7 days, demonstrating the strong writing ability of many writers.
“There is a collection of essays that I really like, the collection of essays Vang Phai Pho Hoi by author Ky Nam Uyen. The collection of essays consists of 2 parts with 32 articles full of culture and people of Hoi An, bringing deep emotions to me about a land with so much sediment that anyone who touches it will find it hard to forget. Because it is full of poetry, written in a whispering voice with many details associated with deep philosophical thoughts” - poet Mai Thin said.

The Music major had only 2 people participating in the composition camp, but they also contributed 3 songs, which were commented by musician Le Xuan Hoan, former Chairman of the Gia Lai Province Literature and Arts Association, as expressing "love, nostalgia, the beauty of the mountains, forests, the sea, and even more so, the beauty of the souls and personalities of the people that the musicians had the opportunity to meet".
These are the songs Beloved Ban Me, Wild Sunflower Season Plei (composer Ho Tuan); Missing Truong Sa (music by Ngoc Van Trung; poem by Nguyen Hiep). Similarly, the Fine Arts major also had 2 authors attending the camp but sent 6 manuscripts to the Organizing Committee, realistically and subtly expressing contemporary life and honoring cultural identity.
In the Theater major, according to statistics of People's Artist Nguyen Thi Hoa Binh , Head of the Gia Lai Provincial Theater Association, the creative camp has received 1 research topic, 9 musical scenes, 6 scripts in the genres of bai choi, cai luong, and drama. The works all highlight the love for the homeland and address current issues in society.
Despite the heavy rain during the actual days of composing, the 7 Photography students still reaped 22 satisfactory works. In particular, the work of Elder Ro Mam (Le Quang Khai) conveyed the message of solidarity between the army and the people in the border area.
Deep emotions from a border strip
For photographer Le Quang Khai - Head of the Photography Association (Dak Lak Province Literature and Arts Association), the trip helped him to have some favorite works about the military-civilian relationship to participate in the photo contest with the theme "Pride of a border strip" in 2026.
Meanwhile, author Le Nhu Doan Uyen (pen name Ky Nam Uyen, Da Nang) also shared the same proud feeling when she first went to the border in Gia Lai. In addition to completing the essay collection Vang Phai Pho Hoi, at this writing camp she also had 2 compositions on the theme of border soldiers.
“The peace of the Fatherland’s border is thanks to your efforts,” Ms. Uyen shared. And these are her heartfelt lines: “Looking up at the Milky Way, I imagine the sword’s path is sparkling/ Looking down at the Vietnamese soil, I hear each vein of blood sing the name of the Fatherland/ In the middle of the border, the soldier becomes a silent monument/ Let peace return with the ripe rice seasons/ Let children sleep peacefully in the sound of the countryside wind/ Generations of men have left, the sky and earth have engraved their names/ Keeping a strip of mountains and rivers, leaving behind a thousand stories/ The mountains are still there, the rivers are still green/ But the soldiers’ hearts are still as bright as the dawn on the mountain tops…”.
Completing her research topic on turning the art of tuong and bai choi into a tourism product while participating in the creative camp, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Huong - Head of the Department of Research and Cooperation for Art Development (Gia Lai Province Traditional Art Theater) was also strongly impressed when she visited some border posts in Gia Lai for the first time.
"From that feeling, I cherished the topic of soldiers, about the close relationship between the army and the people at the border" - Ms. Huong said.

Along with completing the manuscript of the children's novel "Sun and Rain Have Something Strange", poet Dao Duc Tuan (Dak Lak) also shared his plan to write a memoir about a long stretch of border.
He concluded: “We are always aware that we must write in a new and different way, suitable for each breath, each era, each period. Doing literature and art cannot be done “on the fly” but requires training and nurturing of talent. In the AI era, to assert oneself, one must have real talent.”
