Meeting of the Steering Committee for key projects and works in the transport sector

On the afternoon of November 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Head of the State Steering Committee (SC) for important national projects and works, key to the transport sector, chaired the online conference of the 20th meeting of the SC.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi chaired at Vinh Long bridge point.

Attending the Central meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Vietnam Electricity Group; Vietnam Airports Corporation; Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation; Vietnam Expressway Corporation and local leaders.

At Vinh Long bridge, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi chaired, representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches attended.

The meeting focused on discussing, assessing the situation, and proposing solutions to speed up the progress of projects; ensuring quality, technical and aesthetic aspects of the projects; labor safety, hygiene, and environmental landscape; and at the same time, removing difficulties and obstacles arising during the implementation process.

According to the Ministry of Construction, at the 20th Session (September 10, 2025), the Prime Minister assigned 30 tasks to ministries, branches and localities. In particular, focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles, speeding up investment preparation procedures to start construction and inaugurate projects on December 19, 2025.

Up to now, the units have completed 8 tasks on time. Among them, there are a number of important tasks such as: The Ministry of Construction has proactively inspected the site, advised the Deputy Prime Ministers and Heads of the Inspection Teams to direct the units to focus on removing difficulties, speeding up the construction progress of projects in the list of 3,000km of expressways planned to be completed in 2025; sent documents to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to strengthen control of supply, demand and prices of construction materials, review and announce construction material prices, labor unit prices, prices of construction machinery and equipment, and local construction price indexes; directed investors to promptly overcome damage caused by rain and floods after storms, speed up the construction progress of projects...

Also according to the Ministry of Construction, to speed up the implementation of key projects, the Prime Minister has decided to add 3 projects (Phu Quoc International Airport expansion project, Gia Binh International Airport construction investment project and Can Tho 2 Bridge construction investment project) to the list of projects under the Steering Committee, bringing the total number of projects to 123 projects/component projects...

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has also provided guidance on resolving difficulties regarding the plan to exploit the Nhan Co bauxite mine, which is licensed to overlap with the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh project. At the same time, the agencies are actively implementing 21 tasks (10 tasks are regular direction and management tasks; 11 tasks have not yet reached the deadline). Currently, there is one task related to site clearance that has not met the required progress.
