This return is not a random event but the result of determination and unity between the government, functional forces and people to bring the old town back to normal life.
From early morning, the atmosphere in the old town was bustling. On streets such as Bach Dang, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Tran Phu, many groups of international tourists leisurely strolled, admiring the beauty of ancient, moss-covered houses.

Traces of rain and flood almost disappeared, giving way to a clean, tidy scene.
Alvaro Calderon Gomez, a tourist from Spain, said: “I really didn’t think that this place had just experienced a big flood. Everything was clean, orderly, and the houses were still beautiful. The efforts of the people and the government were amazing, making my trip more meaningful.”
Mr. Hoang Van Hai, tour guide of Hoianlittletour Company, said that the government and people of Hoi An responded very proactively to the floods this year, especially in cleaning up the environment after the water receded.
"As the water receded, the government, military forces and people focused on cleaning up. Thanks to that, many roads flooded more than 1 meter deep took only about three days to be cleared again, helping people to quickly stabilize their lives and tourists to visit normally," said Mr. Hai.

According to Mr. Tong Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman of Hoi An Ward People's Committee, the locality identifies Hoi An as a world cultural heritage, an important tourist destination, especially during the international tourist season.
Therefore, although the flood has not completely receded, the ward mobilized all local forces, from cadres, civil servants to militia and youth union members, to carry out the motto "where the water recedes, there is sanitation".
The work to overcome the consequences also received active support from armed forces such as Military Region 5 and the City Military Command.
Even during the flood days, there were still tourists coming to Hoi An. Now the weather is sunny, the number of visitors, especially international visitors, has increased significantly. Many tourists were excited to witness the process of people and authorities restoring the old town after the flood.
