Listen to the people
Huong Tra Ward aims to develop local tourism from the rustic, familiar values of Ca Ban village (Tho Tan residential group), which still preserves the typical village space with green areca trees, fruit gardens, rice paper making, vegetable growing and lush, fruit-laden gardens.
In the action program to implement the Resolution of the Ward Party Congress for the term 2025 - 2030, the direction of Huong Tra is determined to develop community tourism associated with garden economy . Each household is a tourism subject, directly participating in activities to welcome guests, experience and introduce hometown products.
In recent years, Huong Tra ward has organized many meetings to encourage households to participate in the garden economic model associated with community tourism. In Ca Ban village alone, nearly 100 fruit gardens with an area of over 500m² each are encouraged to open to serve tourists.
Some households have boldly invested in homestays, taking guests on river boat trips, combining them with introducing traditional cuisine such as rice paper, local vegetables, fruit jams, etc., creating the experience of a "countryside village in the heart of the city".

Not stopping at exploiting the garden economy, Huong Tra also focuses on preserving and restoring the Huong Tra ecological village space, associated with indigenous cultural elements.
Recently, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi worked with ward leaders and elders of Huong Tra village to listen to people's proposals on cultural and tourism development.
Many opinions agree on the need to preserve traditional cultural values, while combining landscape planning and infrastructure to develop Huong Tra eco-village as a cultural and tourist destination in the city's "green map".
Meanwhile, along the Tam Thanh coastal route in Quang Phu ward, natural and cultural advantages are being promoted to develop community-based tourism. According to the Quang Phu ward tourism development plan for the period 2025 - 2026, the locality aims to form three typical tourism products including: Tam Thanh sea tourism, Dam river eco-tourism and community cultural and artistic experience tourism.
These products are all associated with the participation of the people. In particular, households along the Dam River are supported to improve the landscape, plant trees and provide tourist boat services. Local artisans, painters and students participate in creating and organizing community activities at Tam Thanh Art Village.
Meanwhile, the fishing villagers of Quang Phu ward are guided to do cultural and culinary tourism. The goal is to build a Quang Phu tourism model developed from the community, by the community and for the community.
Create your own identity through community
In Huong Tra, the community tourism model has initially shown its effectiveness through the Ca Ban Village Festival, held annually since 2023, when thousands of tourists participated in agricultural experiences, watched opera, tried making rice paper and enjoyed the riverside scenery.
However, Mr. Bui Ngoc Huy, Vice Chairman of Huong Tra Ward People's Committee, acknowledged that tourism infrastructure is still a major barrier. The locality has been investing in expanding village roads and building parking lots in the central area, but needs more resources to complete the traffic system, lighting and landscape.
Many households wish to have a regular rural market space during the festival seasons to sell agricultural products, cuisine and local handicrafts. Because according to them, the core value of Ca Ban is not modern tourism, but "rural landscapes, gardens and rural culture", in line with the current trend of experiential tourism.
"Huong Tra needs to continue planning Huong Tra eco-village, promoting its role as a tourist destination of the city. In early spring 2026, the ward will organize the Huong Tra communal house festival, a relic more than 300 years old, associated with the history of Tam Ky land, one of the first 6 hamlets of Tam Ky. In addition, the "sầu flower season" area in Cua garden will be invested in and renovated, creating more check-in space for tourists and connecting traffic routes," said Mr. Huy.
According to Vice Chairman of Quang Phu Ward People’s Committee Nguyen Van Hieu, mobilizing people and the government to implement green tourism models is a key factor. The locality encourages people to preserve the landscape, participate in cleaning, planting trees and developing OCOP products and craft village products to serve tourists.

Developing community-based tourism is a suitable and sustainable direction, helping people become the center of the development process, not only as participants but also as beneficiaries. We hope that Quang Phu will become a typical cultural and ecological destination."

Quang Phu Ward has completed the plan to build a "Community living space along Dam River", where visitors can participate in the OCOP market, enjoy local cuisine, experience boating and water sports activities.
Along with that, Quang Phu plans to organize the Tam Thanh Sea Festival, the Dam River Green Festival, the Ky Anh - Bai Say - Tam Thanh Tunnels Experience Tourism Week, connecting the Huong Tra - Ban Thach - Quang Phu tourist route, forming a "community experience chain" typical of the Da Nang suburbs.
