On the evening of November 6, due to heavy rain and strong winds, a purple poinciana tree on the shore of Xuan Huong Lake (Lam Dong) suddenly uprooted and fell, causing regret among many locals and tourists.

Authorities handle pruning of fallen purple poinciana tree

On the morning of November 7, the functional forces of Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat cleaned up and handled the scene of the purple phoenix tree falling on the bank of Xuan Huong lake.

According to the leader of the Urban Department of the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, this purple phoenix tree is many years old, the base is rotten so it cannot withstand strong winds. When it fell, the tree trunk leaned towards the lake, fortunately causing no damage to people or property.

The purple phoenix tree is located on the shore of Xuan Huong Lake in front of Doi Cu Golf Course, near the intersection of Dinh Tien Hoang and Tran Quoc Toan streets. This is considered “the most beautiful phoenix tree in Da Lat”, famous for its dreamy purple color every March and April, attracting many tourists and photographers to admire and take pictures.
