Specifically, after the survey, from the morning of November 10, the construction unit began to conduct jet drilling at 51 locations on the main dam body of Cay An irrigation reservoir (Ta Nang commune). After completing the drills, concrete and waterproofing chemicals will be pumped directly into the dam body, reinforcing to ensure the safety of the project. Along with that, the authorities are also using 4 high-capacity pumps to drain the amount of water in the reservoir, to reduce pressure on the project.
Previously, on November 9, at the meeting to fix the Cay An lake incident, experts from the Department of Management and Construction of Irrigation Works ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province stated that the treatment of cracks and waterproofing of the Cay An lake dam body is expected to take about 15 to 30 days to complete. At the same time, the authorities continue to continuously monitor and regularly monitor the project to promptly have a solution if an incident occurs.

As reported by VNA, on the night of November 7, the People's Committee of Ta Nang commune and hundreds of people had to work overnight to reinforce the Cay An irrigation reservoir project to avoid the risk of collapse due to the dam body cracking and sinking while the water flowed in too quickly. By the morning of November 8, after being reinforced with hundreds of cajuput piles and soil bags at the foot of the dam, the Cay An irrigation reservoir project had gradually stabilized, and the signs of cracking had not increased.
On November 8, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and localities to focus on implementing solutions to handle local landslides in the downstream area of Cay An reservoir. In particular, units must immediately implement emergency technical solutions to save the project; deploy measures to ensure the safety of life and property for people in areas at risk of being affected; organize 24/7 guard duty to control people entering and exiting dangerous areas; mobilize forces and vehicles to be ready to respond in case of dam failure.
At the same time, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also issued an Order to urgently construct the project to urgently repair the seepage and landslide of Cay An reservoir (phase 1) with a total investment of 2.9 billion VND, implementation time of 90 days. Thereby, it aims to ensure safety during operation, avoid the risk of insecurity and dam failure; protect the lives and property of about 400 households and 200 hectares of cultivated land in the downstream area in the coming years.
The Cay An reservoir irrigation project in Ta Nang commune has a capacity of about 1.7 million m3, providing irrigation water for 250 hectares of production land in the area. The project was put into use in 2007. Currently, the area at the foot of the main dam near the water discharge gate has appeared with slides, cracks 54m long, the crack opening is 0.2 - 0.5m wide, with underground water seeping through the foot of the dam. If heavy rain continues, the dam may break at any time.
