Training to improve capacity for legal aid in the land sector

On the morning of August 27, in Nha Trang ward, the Department of Dissemination, Legal Education and Legal Aid (Ministry of Justice) organized a training conference on professional skills and knowledge of legal aid for the poor and vulnerable to improve the capacity of legal aid providers and individuals involved in the land sector. Attending the conference were leaders of legal aid centers and legal aid officers, legal experts, and lawyers providing legal aid in 6 provinces: Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Quang Tri, Dong Nai, and Ca Mau.

At the training session, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuyen - Vice Chairman of the University Council, Head of the Faculty of Economic Law, Hanoi Law University introduced a number of regulations related to land. In particular, focusing on clarifying regulations on: Powers and responsibilities of the State, rights and obligations of citizens regarding land, rights and obligations of land users; administrative unit boundaries and basic land surveys; planning, land use plans; land recovery, land requisition; compensation, support, resettlement when the State recovers land; development, management and exploitation of land funds; land allocation, land lease, change of land use purpose; land registration, issuance of land use right certificates, ownership of assets attached to land.

Delegates also had a number of issues related to land finance, land prices; land information system and national database; land use regime; land administrative procedures; supervision, monitoring and evaluation of land management and use; inspection, examination and auditing; settlement of disputes, complaints, denunciations and handling of land violations and discussion and answers to questions.
