Hanoi meets Hoang Anh Gia Lai again in the 2025 National U17 group stage

The two defending champions and runners-up of last season's U17 national tournament will clash in the group stage of this year's tournament.

On the morning of September 8, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a ceremony to announce the sponsors and draw lots to schedule the final round of the National U17 Football Championship - Thai Son Nam Cup 2025.

According to the draw results, U17 Hanoi will compete with U17 LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai, U17 Song Lam Nghe An, U17 Becamex TP.HCM in group B.

Hanoi is the current national U17 champion in 2024, while Hoang Anh Gia Lai is the runner-up. In addition to having to compete with Song Lam Nghe An, the most traditional team in the tournament with 8 championships, the capital's representative will face no small challenge.

In group A, Ho Chi Minh City Football Club will only have to compete with weaker teams: Hanoi Police, Nam Dinh and SHB Da Nang.

Group C has the presence of two championship candidates: The Cong - Viettel, PVF-CAND, TP.HCM and An Giang.

The National U17 Football Championship is an annual tournament organized by VFF, creating conditions for training and professional competition for young players, while helping clubs create resources for the future. Responding to the development model of modern football, in line with the international competition system of the World Football Federation (FIFA), Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The 2025 National U17 Tournament will feature 12 teams divided into 3 groups playing a round robin to calculate rankings. The 3 first-place teams, 3 second-place teams, and 2 third-place teams with the best records in the 3 groups will advance to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals.

The tournament will take place in Ba Ria, Ho Chi Minh City from September 14 to September 26. With the support of Vietnam Cable Television Corporation, it is expected that 8 matches in the final round will be broadcast live on television channels and online social networking platforms of VTVcab and VFF Channel.

Following the success of previous seasons, this year Thai Son Nam Group Joint Stock Company continues to accompany the final round of the tournament as the main sponsor for the third consecutive time.

Previously, Thai Son Nam had a long-term companionship for 8 consecutive years, from 2011 to 2018, making an important contribution to the development of the national youth football playground.
