Hanoi holds meeting with students participating in international competitions in 2026.

On the afternoon of April 14th, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a meeting with students from the capital city who will participate in the 2026 International Olympiads and Science and Technology competitions.

According to Nguyen Van Hien, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the 2025-2026 school year marks a proud achievement for Hanoi's education sector: for the first time, eight students were selected for the national team to participate in international Olympiads in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science; and six students with three projects participated in the International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States.

These figures not only reflect achievements but also demonstrate the intellectual breakthroughs, resilience, and relentless efforts of students, teachers, and families.

Eight students selected for the national teams to participate in the 2026 International Olympiads are all students from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, including: Pham Dang Nguyen, Ha Manh Hung (mathematics); Vu Nguyen Nguyen (physics); Nguyen Manh Tuan, Tran Hoang Nam, Nguyen The Minh (chemistry); Nguyen Luong Thai Duy (biology); and Le Trong Khoi (computer science).

This is vivid evidence of the high-quality education in the capital city in recent years. The upcoming exams are not only a competition of knowledge but also an opportunity to showcase the character, willpower, national spirit, and image of Vietnamese people on the international stage.

Therefore, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Van Hien, urged students to maintain composure and confidence; to participate in the exam with honesty, a willingness to learn, and a desire to improve; and to view each exam as an opportunity to broaden their horizons, accumulate experience, and connect with international friends. He also noted that while results are important, the essential thing is the growth of each student through each exam. Regardless of the outcome, teachers, families, and schools will always be proud of them.

Six students from Hanoi participated in the International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States; these students are from the following high schools: Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, and Viet Duc High School for the Gifted.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Van Hien acknowledged the role of the teachers and experts who have accompanied and dedicated themselves to nurturing the students; and thanked the parents for always being a support and source of encouragement for their children.

The Hanoi Education Department is committed to continuing to create the best conditions in terms of expertise and procedures so that students can confidently develop their abilities. He expressed confidence that, with serious preparation, Hanoi students will achieve well-deserved results, carrying the faith and aspirations of the people of Hanoi to shine on the international stage.

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Boi Quynh, Principal of Viet Duc High School, representing the school, stated that to participate in international competitions, students have gone through a long journey with many rounds of competition from the cluster level, city level to the national level.

The school is committed to continuing to support students throughout their participation in the exams. According to Ms. Nguyen Boi Quynh, participating in international competitions is an opportunity for students to showcase their abilities, interact, learn, improve their foreign language skills, and gain experience.

Representing students participating in international competitions in 2026, Nguyen The Minh, a 12th-grade Chemistry 1 student from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, affirmed that the journey to these competitions is the result of perseverance, effort, overcoming challenges, and the dedicated guidance of teachers.

Nguyen The Minh considers this not just an exam, but also an opportunity to learn, hone his skills, and nurture his aspirations for excellence. Therefore, he and his teammates promise to continue striving to achieve the best possible results in the exam.
