Ranked 5th in the list of most beautiful autumn foliage destinations in Asia, Hanoi is said by a British magazine to have a very unique autumn compared to other destinations in the continent.
Vietnam’s capital is not a familiar autumn destination for international tourists. Time Out suggests October is the best time to explore Hanoi’s autumn. Visitors can start by strolling around Hoan Kiem Lake to admire the typical red and yellow leaves.

Autumn is also the harvest season in the North, coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival. Therefore, visitors can experience the unique culture of Vietnam such as immersing themselves in traditional music festivals, watching lion dances, eating moon cakes...
British magazine describes: "When night falls, the entire old town will light up with all kinds of lanterns, creating a sparkling, attractive scene."
Besides Hanoi, the remaining names on the list include: Ibaraki and Kyoto (Japan); Nami Island (South Korea); Alishan National Scenic Area (Taiwan, China); Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park (China).
