The Party Committee, the Command Board of Border Guard Regiment 18, and representatives of the local government presented a support sum of 120 million VND (60 million VND per family), drawn from the Ministry of National Defense 's Fund for Building Houses for Comrades, to the families of Comrade Ta Quang Hung (Radio Operator, Staff Department) and Comrade Nguyen Van Tan (Radio Operator, Squadron 1, both belonging to Border Guard Regiment 18).
After 3 months of construction, the two houses were completed with a total usable area of 80m², built to a single-story standard with a corrugated iron roof and tiled floor, at a total cost of approximately 480 million VND.
In addition to the funding for the construction of the "Comrade's House" provided by the Ministry of National Defense, the remaining construction costs were covered by the couple's savings, along with support from family, comrades, relatives, and friends.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Chung, Deputy Political Commissar of Border Guard Regiment 18, emphasized that the houses for comrades, inaugurated and handed over to the families of Major Ta Quang Hung and Major Nguyen Van Tan on this occasion, are projects with profound and practical significance. They not only demonstrate the concern of leaders and commanders at all levels within the unit for the welfare of military families, but also reflect the solidarity, camaraderie, mutual support, and precious traditions of the Vietnam People's Army.
In the coming period, Border Guard Regiment 18 will continue to coordinate with local authorities to support the construction of "Comrade Houses" for 10 military families in the unit, with a total amount of 600 million VND, drawn from the "Comrade House Construction Fund" supported by the Ministry of National Defense.
